The Wizard has stolen the world's words. Only one adventurer can win them back. WordQuest is a spelling adventure for children aged 6 to 11 (about 1st to 5th grade) who find reading and spelling hard. Your child travels through four lands, with forty quests to solve, and learns the spelling rules one at a time, in the right order. They don't sit a lesson. They rescue the words. CREATED BY A RENOWNED DYSLEXIA EXPERT Every rule, every word list and every step of teaching comes from Dr Michael Thomson, a former Chartered Educational Psychologist renowned in the field of dyslexia. He is the author of best-selling books on dyslexia, including Developmental Dyslexia, The Psychology of Dyslexia and Dyslexia: A Teaching Handbook, co-author of the Aston Index screening test, and for over 25 years was Principal of East Court, a specialist school for dyslexic children. The game grows out of his two gamebooks, WordQuest and The Book of Letters, developed at a specialist school and used in many schools. Nothing is random: it starts with letters and vowels, short words come before long, and rules come one at a time. AMERICAN OR BRITISH SPELLING Choose American spelling when you start, or switch any time in Settings. Words on screen like colored, favorite and Mom follow your choice, and Z is "zee". The narrator keeps his British voice. FULLY NARRATED A child who cannot yet read the instructions can still play. Every page, every question, every word is spoken by a warm narrator, and a friendly cat explains anything new. Tap the speaker to hear any page or question again. WHAT YOUR CHILD LEARNS • Vowel sounds and vowel names • Consonant blends and digraphs (sh, th, ch, wh) • Magic E and the vowel that says its name • Doubling, -ck and -k, -dge and -tch, soft and hard C • Plurals, suffixes, prefixes and syllables • Homophones, silent letters and the tricky W words HOW IT PLAYS • A story with real choices, and a "what might have happened" scene when you get it wrong (they are quite fun) • Forty quests: sort, build, fill, match and spell • Spelling Ranks and a level counter, so effort shows • Mini-games in every land: the Magic E Cannon, Syllable Drums, Bridge Builder and more • No ads, no chat, no accounts for children, nothing to read before you can start THE FIRST QUESTS ARE FREE The first two quests are free with no card needed. The whole adventure, all four lands and every quest, is a single one-off payment. No subscription. For parents, teachers and tutors of children with dyslexia, and for any child who would rather go on an adventure than do a worksheet. Privacy: WordQuest collects no personal data. Progress is stored only on the device.

About

Dungeons & Digraphs

Features

Dungeons & Digraphs turns spelling practice into a real adventure. Your hero hears a word, spells it by tapping letter tiles into place, and lands a hit on the monster in front of them. Get it right, and the beast falls. Get it wrong, and you simply try again — no stress, no red crosses, just another go. FOR KIDS • Choose a Fighter, Wizard or Ranger, each with their own special power that charges up as you spell correctly • Battle through 50 monsters and 50 quests, from goblins to dragons • Hatch pets from eggs dropped by tricky bosses • Earn gold and spend it on hats, tails, colours and weapon looks for your hero • Hear every word and clue read aloud, as many times as you like FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS • Covers the full UK National Curriculum spelling lists, Reception through Year 6 (age 4-11) • Automatically gives extra practice on the words a child finds tricky, until they've got them • Type in this week's spelling list from school, with your own clues if you like • One setting switches the whole word bank between UK and US spelling • See real progress: words attempted, accuracy, and which spelling patterns need more work • Everything that matters for grown-ups — settings, backup and purchases — sits behind a simple maths question, so little hands can't change them by accident NO ADS. NO ACCOUNTS. NO TRACKING. There's no sign-up, no social features, and nothing for a child to type that anyone else will ever see. No advertising and no analytics of any kind. If you choose to back up your hero's progress, it goes to your own cloud storage, in a hidden folder only this app can open - we never see it. The game itself is completely free, and there's no "pay to win" or microtransactions available - accessing the upgrades uses the gold that the hero earns in-game, not something that can be bought with real money. There is a one-time premium option which unlocks deeper parent metrics, more hero slots and longer word lists, but this is a completely optional purchase and the game is fully functional without it.
