HonestWX vs OpenWeer

HonestWX helps you decide quickly when to go out, commute, train, or stay dry. What you get: • Current conditions with hourly and multi-day forecasts • Rain timeline and radar playback to see recent movement (where available) • Favorite locations and quick comparison between saved places • Weather alerts with quiet hours and sensible anti-spam limits • Home Screen widgets and optional iCloud sync for selected settings Privacy and data handling: • No account required • No third-party tracking SDKs • Forecast data from Open-Meteo; radar overlays from RainViewer (where available) • Data export and on-device data deletion in Settings Free vs Premium: • Free tier includes up to 5 favorite locations • Premium unlocks additional forecast and chart capabilities—details are shown in the app before you purchase HonestWX does not claim to be the “most accurate” weather source everywhere; forecasts depend on models, location, and timing. Use alerts and radar as aids, not a substitute for official warnings in severe weather.

The clearest rain radar for the Netherlands. Open, honest, ad-free. Built on the official rain and weather data from KNMI — the same source used by Dutch journalists and meteorologists. No account. No tracking. No hidden subscriptions. Just knowing whether to grab a jacket. LIVE RAIN RADAR See up to two hours ahead, anywhere in the Netherlands. The radar plays back at a smooth 60 fps, with a time slider that responds the way you'd expect. Zoom in to street level, zoom out to the whole of Europe. 8-DAY HOURLY FORECAST Temperature, chance of rain, wind speed and direction — everything in one view, for any point in the country. RAIN ALERTS THAT MAKE SENSE One push notification just before it starts raining at your location. Not ten. OpenWeer reads the KNMI radar every five minutes and knows exactly when to ping you. WIDGETS AND LIVE ACTIVITY Put the weather and rain radar on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. During a shower, the Dynamic Island shows a live countdown — no need to open the app. ASK OPENWEER "Should I leave now to get home dry?" "Can I hang the laundry outside?" Ask in plain English and get an answer grounded in the latest measurement. PRIVACY BY DEFAULT • Fully open-source under the MIT license. Read the code on GitHub. • Weather data from KNMI (CC-BY-4.0), credited as required. • No account, no ads, no tracking. Your location stays on your phone. • No ad networks, no analytics cookies, no hidden costs. MADE IN THE NETHERLANDS OpenWeer is an independent project running on open data and open code — for anyone who wants to know what the weather's doing, without the noise. Ideas, issues, or pull requests welcome at github.com/openweer/openweer.
