About

Spots

Features

Spots teaches the times tables from 1 to 10 with hand-drawn ladybugs, and shows you exactly which of the 55 facts your child knows. A few questions at the start build your child's plan, a calm three-minute check finds the starting point, and a re-check shows what has changed since. HOW IT TEACHES Each table opens with its own short story, then a lesson that sets the ladybugs' spots out in groups: 6 × 5 is 6 groups of 5, counted 5, 10, 15 up to 30. Your child then practises until the answer comes by heart, and “show me” brings the groups back. Every table has its own trick, and a wrong answer is counted up so your child sees why. Each table learned earns a badge, and your child shows you the trick. On iPhone Duo, Spots opens like a sketchbook across the fold. WHAT YOU SEE • A fact map: one spot per fact, coloured in when known, starred when quick • The first check next to today, and a finish line in weeks, given as a range • A weekly card to share, and a one-page check to print THE SCHOOL'S OWN TEST Spots follows your school system: the tafeldiploma in the Netherlands, the maaltafeldiploma in Flanders, the tabellförhör in Sweden, the gangeprøve in Norway, and Year 3 and 4 quick recall in Australia. An optional check in the school's format shows how close your child is to school pace. Division tables have their own badges and diplomas. CALM AND SAFE No clock, no ads, no streaks, no notifications. Settings, links and purchases sit behind a parental gate, and nothing in the child's part of the app asks for money. No account is needed, and your children's names and progress stay on the device. WHAT KEEPS COMING • Keep-fresh checks after the tables are learned, and a summer top-up in the holidays • Ten short stories about how people first counted, one to open every table • Unlimited child profiles HOW THE SUBSCRIPTION WORKS Spots needs a subscription or the lifetime purchase after a 2-week free trial, which opens everything: all ten tables, division, stories, checks and diplomas. A grown-up picks a plan in the first setup, behind a parental gate: • Monthly subscription: the first 2 weeks free for new subscribers, then charged every month until cancelled • Annual subscription • Lifetime: a one-time purchase, not a subscription Each plan covers your whole family, up to six people, through Family Sharing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the 2 free weeks end. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. To stop a renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current period ends, in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
