TowCommand Driver is the field app for tow companies that dispatch on TowCommand. Your drivers log in with the account you set up for them and run the whole call on their phone, from the job offer to the payment, while dispatch follows each step on the board. A new job comes in with an alert and shows the pickup, the drop-off, the vehicle, the rough miles and drive time, and the driver's estimated pay (for drivers paid by the job) before they accept. If the vehicle is an EV or a model that should ride on a flatbed, the offer says so up front. A driver who declines picks a reason, so dispatch knows why. One tap opens directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. Start driving, arrived on scene and arrived at drop-off are one tap each, and the board updates as they go. On the way, the driver can call or text the customer and send an updated ETA. On scene, a wait timer starts, and they can ask the customer to share their location, send their own, or show an ID card with the photo and truck plate from their profile. No destination yet? The driver can pick up first and set the drop-off later from one of your saved destinations or any address. Before the work starts on a priced job, the price comes up on screen for the customer to agree to. The app walks the driver through the photo checklist (front, rear, both sides and the VIN plate on a tow), the drivetrain and any pre-existing damage. On a paid tow, once the payment is in, they take the drop-off photos and the customer signs on the screen. You can require photos and signatures before a job can start or close, so you have a record if a damage claim comes in later. Get paid before the truck leaves. With Tap to Pay on iPhone, the driver takes the payment on their own iPhone: the customer taps a contactless card, or pays with Apple Pay or another digital wallet. No card reader needed. Payments are processed by Stripe and go to your company's own Stripe account. The driver can also text the customer a payment link or record cash, and any cash they collect is logged to them as cash to deposit. You choose which drivers can take payments. Tap to Pay on iPhone needs iPhone XS or later with the latest version of iOS, and payments set up for your company in TowCommand. Some contactless cards may not be accepted, and transaction limits may apply. Tap to Pay on iPhone is not available in all markets. When the job closes, drivers paid by the job see what they made on it. The earnings tab shows the week and the month, plus tips and pay periods when there are any. The schedule tab has their shifts and upcoming scheduled jobs, with clock in and out and breaks for drivers paid by the hour. Drivers you give permission to can also create jobs from the truck, handy when you are out running calls yourself. Every active job has an SOS button that alerts everyone in your dispatch office with the driver's location and the job they are on. Built by a Houston tow operator for drivers who work all day in the truck. The buttons are big. If the signal drops mid-job, photos, signatures and most status taps save on the phone and send when coverage comes back. Taking a payment needs a signal. Note: TowCommand Driver requires an account provided by a towing company that subscribes to TowCommand. It is a companion app for working drivers, not a way to request a tow.
