Easy Sutra is an application that helps readers access the core teachings of Buddhism in the clearest and easiest way, from the Nikayas of Early Buddhism to major Mahayana scriptures. It is more than a simple text archive. It is built to support daily recitation, reflection, and steady learning in one quiet reading space. 1. Comfortable reading and fast navigation Paragraph-based reading layout: Long scripture passages are organized into clear sections, making them easier to read and understand. Fast offline search: Find sutra titles and passages quickly, even without an internet connection. Smart Data Management: Swipe left on any sutra card on the home screen to clear its downloaded text and manage storage space. (Your bookmarks and memos remain perfectly safe.) Lightning-Fast Startup: With the new optimized data loading, the app opens instantly. Bookmarks and reading progress: Save important passages and continue naturally from where you left off. 2. TTS reading for daily recitation Built-in device TTS: Listen to scriptures using your device's native speech engine. Real-time highlight and auto-scroll: Follow the current passage visually while listening. Tap-to-read and smart resume: Tap any paragraph to start reading from that exact point and continue smoothly after a pause. 3. Memos and commentary for deeper study Independent memo system: Your memos are stored separately from bookmarks, so removing a bookmark does not erase your notes. CSV backup and restore: Export important memos for personal backup and restore them later when needed. Paragraph-by-paragraph commentary: Where commentary is available, Easy Sutra helps readers understand the meaning and context of each passage more deeply. 4. Tablet support and privacy-first design Split view on larger screens: Read translation and source text together for a more immersive study experience. Intelligent Typography: Automatically applies the most beautiful premium fonts tailored to your language, with options to customize them in settings. 108 Bows โ practice at your own pace Move prayer beads one at a time, follow a steady rhythm while viewing all 108 beads, or choose a meditation sound. Keep a record of your practice. โ Manual prayer beads Swipe the beads downward to count each bow yourself. Practice as long as you like, then tap Save to record your count. Leaving the manual screen resets the current unsaved count. โ A rhythm that suits you Choose a 9, 11, or 15-second interval. Follow the 108 beads and progress display, with sound you can turn on or off in Settings. An automatic session is recorded only after all 108 bows and the closing sound are complete. โ Meditation sounds Choose temple ambience, wind, or summer-night crickets for a 2-, 5-, or 8-hour session. Start and pause playback yourself. โ Records by date and year Review your saved manual counts and completed automatic sessions by date. Edit or delete a record, see your total bows, and switch years to revisit past practice.
