BashoWalk vs BatteryNest

"Transform a simple walk into an elegant journey." Basho Walk is a walking tracker that utilizes your iPhone HealthKit data (steps) to let you retrace the legendary steps of the 17th-century haiku master, Matsuo Basho. The hundreds or thousands of steps you take today will sync with Basho’s 1689 journey—a 2,400km (1,500-mile) path from Edo (Tokyo) to Ogaki. Your daily commute, school run, or grocery trip: why not turn your everyday movement into a historical voyage through time and space? 【Key Features】 - Progress Through History with Your Steps: Simulate the actual route from Fukagawa, Edo, to the goal in Ogaki on a map. Your current location updates based on your real-world step count. - Checkpoint & Haiku Collection: As you reach each post town, you unlock the haikus Basho composed at those very locations. Immerse yourself in the scenery and emotions of the past. - Sense Basho’s Pace: The app calculates Basho’s 17th-century pace in real-time. By seeing where Basho is "walking" right now, you’ll feel a unique sense of companionship and motivation. - Sophisticated Japanese Design: With meticulous attention to typography and color palettes, we have created a calm, "Wa" (Japanese-style) UI designed for mature users to enjoy daily. 【Recommended For】 - Those who want to walk for health but find standard pedometers repetitive. - People interested in history, literature, or haiku. - Those who want to add a touch of joy and culture to their daily routine.
