Upgrade your train to fit your needs: Go looting or complete missions to find "Scraps", which can be used to turn your train into a death machine on wheels. Get help from the townspeople: Help out the settlers in return for high powered weapons, and other items vital to Charles' destruction. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Choo at 4.8 against Tearscape's 4.3. Choo also leads on price ($4.99 vs $9.99) and ratings volume (49 vs 6). Tearscape's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Choo costs $4.99 and Tearscape $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Choo holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Choo has 49 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of Choo's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tearscape's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Choo ships an update every 3 weeks, Tearscape every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
