Features

Snap a photo of a wine label and the AI reads the producer, wine name, vintage, grape, and region, then drafts your tasting note. Add a star rating and save. That's the whole record. It's a journal of the wines you drink, not a shop or a ratings feed. There are no ads. β–  Start a Record With One Photo β€’ Photograph the front and back labels, up to two photos. The AI reads each detail field by field. β€’ Labels are read as printed, whether they're English, French, Italian, Spanish, or Japanese. β€’ Small producers and natural wines are covered too. When a label isn't enough, the app checks the web to confirm. β€’ Line the label up in the guide frame for a steadier shot and a more accurate read. β€’ Fix anything on the spot. Low-confidence fields are shown dimmed, so you know what to check. β€’ Start from a photo already in your library. β€’ If the AI can't read a label, or the bottle has none, enter it by hand. A wine name and a type are enough to save. β–  Remember How It Tasted β€’ Rate from 0.5 to 5 stars, in half-star steps. β€’ Taste tags such as tannin, acidity, fruit, maturity, sweetness, and body. β€’ Price, glass or bottle, where you drank it, the date, and free-form notes. β–  See Where You Drank β€’ Switch the list to a map, and pins with label photos appear where you drank. β€’ Keeping the location is your choice for each record. It starts on by default, and you can change the default in Settings. β–  Find and Revisit β€’ Full-text search across wines, producers, and notes. β€’ Filter by type, region, grape, rating, price range, and date. β€’ Records of the same wine are grouped together, so you can compare with the last time you had it. β€’ Curious about a bottle? Jump to a web search built from the producer and wine name. β–  See It in Numbers β€’ Bottles by month and year, share by wine type, average price, and rating distribution. β–  Take Your Records With You β€’ Export every record as CSV and photos, anytime, for free. β€’ Deleted records stay in the trash for 30 days. β–  Sync and Account β€’ Sign in with Apple, sign in with Google, or use an email code. β€’ Records and photos sync to the cloud, so they come back when you sign in on a new phone. β€’ Delete your account and all your data from Settings anytime. β–  Pricing Logging, search, the map, and export are free. The free plan includes 10 AI scans a month (a front and back label count as 2). After you reach the limit, you can keep logging by hand. Cave Note Premium raises the limit to 100 AI scans a month. In the US it's $3.99 a month or $39.99 a year. It renews automatically, and you can cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. β–  Your Data β€’ Label photos are sent to Google (Gemini API) only to read the label. They aren't used to train models. β€’ Exif data in your photos, such as the date and location, is removed on your device before upload. β€’ Only for records with "Keep location" on, the coordinates read from the photo are saved separately, as numbers. β€’ No ads, and no tracking for advertising.
