FAX-OFF turns your phone into a paper fax machine. Not a fax-themed messaging app. An actual fax machine, with the noises. Write a page. Dial somebody. A genuine T.30 modem handshake goes down the line: the chirp, the answer tone, the V.21 warble, the training screech you have not heard since 1997. Then the page prints, line by line, onto a paper roll at the other end, while you both sit there and watch. This is the whole idea. It is slow on purpose. WHAT GOES ON A PAGE Typed notes. Photos. Camera scans of actual paper. PDFs. Drawings done with a finger. Your contact card. A map of where you are standing. Everything is scanned into slightly grubby black-and-white paper on the way through, because that is what a fax does to things. There is a DIRTY GLASS setting. It makes it worse. ROLLS AND GROUP FAXES Every conversation is one long paper roll, kept on your phone. A group fax is a single call: the exchange rings everyone at once, whoever is holding a line prints the page live as it comes off your scanner, and the header records who was LINE BUSY or NO ANSWER so the whole group knows exactly who missed it. WHEN NOBODY IS HOME If the other machine is switched off, the exchange answers in its place and keeps the page. It starts printing the moment they open the app. Nobody has to be online at the same time, which is more than could be said for the original. WHAT IT COSTS Faxing another FAX-OFF user is free. Every page, as often as you like, forever. KEEP THE MACHINE. One payment, once. Unlocks group faxes, photos, PDFs, drawings and location pages, permanently. Not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing to cancel. RECEIVING NUMBER. An optional real fax number that answers inside the app, so real fax machines can send pages back to you, with an outgoing monthly allowance included. Billed monthly and renews itself until you cancel in your App Store subscription settings. THE SMALL PRINT, PRINTED SMALL No ads. No tracking SDK. No call audio is ever stored: the exchange keeps a queued page only until it has been delivered, and the finished roll lives on your phone. FAX-OFF is a novelty communication app, not a certified or legally attested fax service. Do not use it for emergencies, or anywhere proof of transmission is legally required. Your lawyer has a real fax machine for that. Ours just sounds the same. Terms of Use (EULA): https://faxoff.app/terms Privacy Policy: https://faxoff.app/privacy
