Calotype is a simple RAW camera for photographers who want a cleaner path from lens to file. Your iPhone already has a very capable camera. It also makes a lot of decisions before you ever see the photo. Calotype keeps things quieter. On supported back cameras, Calotype saves real RAW DNG files that you can take into the editor of your choice. No accounts, no cloud library, no extra processing layer. Manual controls are built around the camera you are actually using. Shutter speed follows the sensor’s real format limits, with ISO, focus, white balance, exposure offset, and focus peaking close at hand. You also get interval shooting for timelapses and hands-free captures, exposure bracketing for tricky light, and a simple in-app gallery for reviewing, sharing, and deleting recent shots. Calotype is made by a photographer, for the moments when you want the phone to feel a little more like a camera.

Luxa captures natural-looking iPhone photos with less processing. Less sharpening. More natural texture. RAW + ProRAW on supported devices. Built for people who prefer a more natural rendering of the scene. LESS PROCESSING Modern smartphone cameras often apply strong sharpening and computational processing automatically. Luxa takes a more restrained approach, helping preserve the natural texture of skin, hair, fabric, foliage, architecture, and everyday scenes. RAW, WITHOUT THE COMPLEXITY Shoot in RAW or ProRAW on supported devices while keeping the experience simple and fast. Open. Frame. Shoot. No complicated controls. No clutter. A MORE NATURAL STARTING POINT Luxa is not designed to make every photo look dramatic. It is designed to preserve more of the original texture and character of the scene, giving you a cleaner, more natural starting point for your photos. Less Processing. More Texture.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Luxa RAW Camera at none against Calotype's 1. Calotype's advantage is iOS requirement (18 vs 26.0). On price there is nothing between them.
