The app is free. Level 1 in full, with unlimited sessions, and training that adapts to your ear from the very first answer. You hear two notes. Which one is higher? By how much? And played together, could you name them? Recognizing intervals by ear is what separates the musician who reads notes from the one who hears music. It is not a gift, it is practice. And you do not need to read sheet music to start. TRAINING THAT ADAPTS TO YOU The ZDP engine reads your answers as you go and sets every exercise to the level you are at today. On a good run? Difficulty rises. An interval that keeps slipping? It eases off until that one sinks in. You stay where progress actually happens: never bored, never stuck against a wall. A DEBRIEF AFTER EVERY SESSION Apple Intelligence can analyze your work right on your device and give you personal feedback: what is settling in, what still needs time. Nothing leaves your device. FREE, FOREVER โข All of Level 1, with unlimited sessions โข The full adaptive engine within that scope โข Your progress, your calendar and your stats โข Reminders to help you keep the rhythm WHAT THE SINGLE PURCHASE UNLOCKS โข Every level, from your first steps to the most demanding โข The complete range of intervals, simple and compound, ascending, descending and harmonic โข Your choice of which intervals to work on โข The pathway built for the L.U.C.I.D. method One purchase, no subscription. FOR HOME AND FOR THE CLASSROOM Up to 3 independent profiles on a single device: everyone keeps their own progress, stats and pace. BUILT TO BE USABLE BY EVERYONE VoiceOver, high contrast, a dark interface, and feedback that never relies on color alone: every answer is marked by a symbol and by haptic feedback. Adapting properly means adapting to each person. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU No collection, no account to create, no connection required, no permission to grant to get started. Everything happens on your device. Note Precision: Intervals accompanies the Relative Ear module of the L.U.C.I.D. platform, which grew out of a music teacher's work, and it fits practice with your teacher as naturally as working on your own at home. Available in 12 languages, as a native app on iPhone, iPad and Mac. This is the first app in the NotePrecision suite. The ear can be trained.
Ear Training
Read full descriptionHide full description
Ear Training is built for live sound engineers first, and just as useful for mix engineers, producers and musicians who want to train their ear. Three games, all played by ear: Name the Boosted Band: pink noise, or audio you import yourself, plays with one frequency band boosted. Pick which one you hear lifted, from four options. Name the Cut Band: the same game with a band pulled down instead of boosted. Cuts are naturally harder to catch than boosts of the same size, a real asymmetry in how we hear. The app is built to train you to notice it rather than smooth it away. Find the Feedback: find the ringing feedback on a graphic EQ and pull down the correct fader to kill it. Touch the wrong fader and you lose points. Four difficulty levels for Boost and Cut: as you go up, the boost or cut gets subtler and the wrong answers sit closer together. A Bypass button lets you A/B against the unprocessed sound at every level except Expert, where it's removed and you get one chance to listen to the reference before starting the round. Every band matches the frequencies on a real hardware graphic EQ, so what you learn here carries straight onto a real desk. It's best to play with headphones, since low bands can be inaudible on a phone speaker. You can narrow the active range to match your setup. Track your scores and streaks over time. No account, works offline, nothing tracked. Every game, every difficulty, and every feature is unlocked from the start. Free play includes 3 rounds per game, per day; a one-time Pro unlock removes that daily limit if you want unlimited practice. No subscription.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Note Precision at none against Ear Training's 1. Note Precision also leads on device support (3 vs 1). Ear Training's advantage is update cadence (daily vs monthly) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
