PixiePlant vs Plant Compass

PixiePlant is a plant care app for your real houseplants — or as our users keep putting it, "like a Tamagotchi, but for real plants." Identify any plant with your camera, get watering and care reminders that actually keep it alive, and watch your real plant come to life as a hand-drawn pixel companion with its own personality, moods, and reactions. It's a real plant tracker first — identify, schedule, journal — wrapped in the warmth of a pixel-art greenhouse. Designed for plant parents, cottagecore lovers, and fans of cozy games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing who've always wanted that same calm in a plant-care app. — FEATURES — INSTANT PLANT ID Snap a photo. PixiePlant identifies your houseplant in seconds and adds it to your greenhouse with a tailored care schedule. SMART CARE SCHEDULES Personalized watering, misting, fertilizing, and pruning reminders that adapt to each plant's species. No more guesswork, no more dead pothos. PLANTS WITH PERSONALITIES Every plant has its own temperament — sassy, mellow, dramatic, thoughtful. They react when you care for them (and politely complain when you don't). It's the difference between a checklist and a relationship. PIXEL-ART GREENHOUSE — NO AI ART Every plant, pot, and scene is hand-illustrated pixel art, drawn by real human artists. No generative AI, no slop, no shortcuts. Customize pots, banners, and backgrounds to build the cozy plant corner you wish you had IRL. PLANT JOURNAL & DEX Track every care action, log growth over time, and fill out your "Plantdex" — a collectible reference of every species you've cared for. FRIENDS & COMMUNITY Add friends, see what they're growing, send rainbows, and cheer each other on. Plant care is better together. A DAILY RITUAL, NOT A CHORE No ads, no aggressive monetization, no grind. Designed as a small daily moment you look forward to — somewhere between the calm of a cozy hobby and a real-life plant tracker. — WHO IT'S FOR — • Plant parents who want plant care to feel joyful, not chore-like • Fans of cozy games like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, or Spiritfarer • Pixel-art and cottagecore lovers • Anyone with one houseplant or fifty who wants to keep them alive • Anyone who got attached to a Tamagotchi in the '90s and never quite got over it — WHY PIXIEPLANT — Most plant apps treat your plants like a database row. PixiePlant treats them like little characters you're building a relationship with. The reminders still work. The plant ID still works. But the daily check-in feels like opening a cozy ritual, not a task manager. Free to download. No ads. No AI-generated art — every sprite is hand-pixeled by a real human. Made with care by a tiny team who actually likes their houseplants. Grow something cozy. Download PixiePlant and start your pixel greenhouse today.
