An equb works because everyone keeps their word. Smart Equb keeps the record. Every contribution, every draw and every payout in one place, so no one has to rely on a notebook or on memory. WHAT AN EQUB IS An equb is a rotating savings group. A set of members agree on an amount and a schedule, and each member contributes that amount every round. In each round, one member receives the full pooled amount. Rounds continue until every member has received the pool once. Members are contributing and receiving their own money — no one pays a fee to take part in a draw. WHAT THE APP DOES Join an equb Browse equbs by type and cycle length, see the contribution amount and schedule before you join, and track your position in the rotation. Track every contribution See what you owe, what you have paid and what is outstanding, with a full history of every contribution and its status. Pay by bank transfer Transfer to the equb's account and upload your receipt in the app. An administrator checks the receipt against the account before confirming it, so every contribution is matched to a real transfer. Follow the draws Each round's recipient is selected by a random draw that is recorded and can be checked afterwards. Draw results and the order of past rounds stay available in the app. Receive your payout When your round comes, follow the payout from confirmation through to transfer, with the amount and date recorded. Stay informed Notifications for contribution reminders, draw results and payout updates. Built for Ethiopia Amounts in birr, and the app runs fully in Amharic or English, with Ethiopian calendar dates when set to Amharic. Keep your account secure Lock the app with a PIN or Face ID. You can delete your account and its data from within the app at any time. ABOUT DRAWS The draw decides only the order in which members receive the pool. Every member receives the pooled amount exactly once over the life of the equb. Nothing is staked on the outcome, no member can lose money to chance, and the app does not offer betting, gambling or simulated gambling of any kind. SUPPORT support@smartequb.com +251 99 233 3316
