About

Burnlock

Features

The apps that distract you most stay locked until you have earned the time to open them. Not with a timer you can talk yourself out of — with calories. Burnlock reads the workouts Apple Health already knows about and turns what you burn into minutes of screen time. Train, open the app, watch the minutes land. Then spend them on whatever was eating your day. EVERY WORKOUT COUNTS Run, ride, lift, swim, row, a yoga class, a long walk. If Health recorded it, it pays. Nothing to log by hand, no camera, no reps performed in front of your phone. HOW IT WORKS • Choose the apps and categories you want shielded • Burn calories — 5 kcal buys a minute at the standard rate • Real workouts pay double what everyday movement pays • Unlock in blocks of 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes • End an unlock early and the minutes you did not use come back NO APPLE WATCH? STEPS COUNT Without a Watch your calorie data is thin, so Burnlock credits steps instead — around 250 steps to the minute — and never counts both on the same day. YOU SET THE PRICE Six effort levels, from Gentle to Beast. Pick the one that matches your week and change it whenever your training does. REST DAYS ARE FREE Banked minutes are yours. Three quiet days cost nothing, and any activity at all — a walk counts — resets the clock. BOUNDED ON PURPOSE There is a ceiling on what you can earn in a day and a ceiling on what you can bank, because grinding calories for screen time is not the point. No leaderboard, no feed, no comparing yourself with anyone. YOUR HEALTH DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE Burnlock reads workouts and active energy, and only reads — it never writes to Health. Your health data is never uploaded, never placed in iCloud and never sent to any analytics service. Only the minutes you have banked move between your own devices. FREE AND PREMIUM Free: three shield slots, up to 60 earned minutes a day, a 240-minute bank, and the Gentle through Active rates. Premium: unlimited apps and categories, up to 240 minutes a day, a 600-minute bank, the 60 and 120-minute unlocks, the Strong and Beast rates with a custom slider and auto-calibration, and five emergency passes a month instead of one. Premium is a subscription. The price and renewal terms are on screen before you buy, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. Requires iOS 18, Screen Time, and permission to read Health. An Apple Watch is recommended but not required.
