KickMint

Task initiation for ADHD, AuDHD, and late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults. The shame-free ADHD task starter that breaks any task into the first physical step. On-device AI. No cloud. No account. Built for executive function, time blindness, and the moment when "just start" stops working. KickMint is built for adults with ADHD and AuDHD (ADHD plus autism), for late-diagnosed and RSD-aware adults, and for anyone whose brain knows exactly what to do and still cannot begin. It does not try to make you more organized. It tries to make the next step possible. WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT Most productivity apps assume the bottleneck is planning. For ADHD and AuDHD, the bottleneck is the gap between "I should" and the first physical action. KickMint is designed end to end around that gap. Pick One. Instead of a list of fifteen tasks, the Focus tab shows you one. The one your brain is most likely to actually start, given your energy, the time you have, and what you have done today. Break it down in seconds. Tap Break it down on any task. You get three to five steps that each start with a physical action you can do without thinking. "Open the laptop." "Get the form from the drawer." Not "start the report." Implementation intentions (specific if-then plans) raise follow-through across 94 studies (Gollwitzer & Sheeran, 2006). Stuck help. One tap and KickMint gives you a five-step recovery that caps each step at five minutes. Tiny, physical, finishable. Designed for the moment when "just start" stops working. Time anchors. ADHD time blindness is real and measured (Barkley, 2012; Weissenberger et al., 2021). KickMint shows you a single line that grounds where you are in the day: morning, midday, evening. No buzzing reminders. Just a quiet marker. Breathing room. The breathing space button runs four cycles of 4-7-8 breathing with a visible round counter, matching Dr Andrew Weil's beginner protocol. Slow paced breathing produces a measurable parasympathetic shift in three to four cycles (Aktas et al., 2019). YOUR PHONE, YOUR DATA The AI runs on your phone. A small open-weight model (Qwen 2.5 1.5B) downloads once over WiFi, about 990 MB, and from then on every task breakdown, Pick One suggestion, and Stuck recovery is computed locally. Nothing is sent to us. We never see your tasks. There is no account. Your data never leaves the phone. There is no account, no server, and no sync service, so there is nothing of yours on our side to lose or leak. Moving to a new iPhone works through your encrypted iPhone backup: restore the new device and your tasks are already there. WHAT IS IN PRO Free covers the daily loop end to end: capture, single-task focus, breakdown templates, Pick One that respects your medication window and cycle, Stuck help, breathing space, routine markers, Waiting Mode, and a weekly summary. Every Pro feature is free for 30 days on first use, no card. Pro unlocks on-device AI task breakdown, sized to your cycle phase and adapted to your own patterns, AI re-break when a step is too big, the full soundscape library, sound calibration, and detailed weekly insights. Monthly, annual, or one-time Lifetime, pricing shown in app. BUILT FOR ADHD AND AUDHD ADULTS The app explicitly supports neurodivergent overlays the rest of the category ignores: PDA-aware tone, sensory-overload Stealth mode, novelty rotation, overcommitment detection, time estimation training, and waiting-mode relief when you have a calendar window too small to start the real work. We are honest: KickMint is a productivity tool, not a medical device, not therapy, not a replacement for an ADHD or autism diagnosis. It is what we wished existed when nothing else fit. You don't have a motivation problem. You have a time problem — you genuinely can't feel it passing, so a "quick" task eats the afternoon and you never see it coming. This app works on that from both ends: making time visible while it passes, and showing you how badly you misjudge it. WATCH TIME PASS The whole screen is the timer. It shifts from calm green to amber to urgent red as your deadline approaches, so you always know where you stand without reading a number. Vibration pulses intensify in the final stretch. No tiny digits, no abstract progress ring — just color you can read from across the room. FIND OUT HOW LONG THINGS REALLY TAKE Switch to Task mode, name what you're doing, and guess the time. When your estimate runs out the timer doesn't quietly stop — it asks whether you actually finished. If you didn't, it keeps counting, and the real duration is what gets recorded. Not the one you hoped for. YOUR PLANNING MULTIPLIER After five tracked tasks, a single number tells you how far off your estimates are. 1.7x means a task you think is 30 minutes usually runs 52. It's broken down task by task, so you learn which work always overruns and which you actually judge well. KNOW BEFORE YOU START Set 25 minutes on something you've done before and the app tells you what it will really take. Plan against your own history instead of your optimism. ALSO INSIDE • Focus Routines — chain timers into a sequence and just hit start • Insights — this week's focus time, plus sessions, streaks and patterns with Pro • A Home Screen widget to start a session without opening the app • Presets from 5 to 45 minutes, plus custom lengths • A colorblind-friendly palette • No account. Nothing to set up. It works offline. Free to use: the timer, Task mode, the estimate gate, your first three forecasts and your first custom timer cost nothing. Pro unlocks your full planning multiplier, unlimited forecasts, custom timer lengths, your own routines, full Insights and complete history. Built for ADHD brains that can't feel time passing. Because when time is invisible, focus breaks — and every estimate is a guess.
