Rotcut - Block Apps, Earn Your Screen Time Go From Mindless Scrolling to Intentional Use Your phone is designed to keep you hooked. Every spare second pulls you back into the feed, and before you know it an hour is gone. Rotcut breaks that loop. Instead of opening a distracting app on autopilot, you pause, complete a quick focus task, and earn the right to unlock it. Distraction stops being free, and your attention becomes something you choose to spend. This is not another screen time tracker that just shows you numbers and hopes you feel bad. Rotcut puts real friction and a real reward system between you and the apps that drain your day. How It Works 1) Choose the apps that steal your time, like social media, video, or games 2) Complete focus tasks to earn energy, your unlock currency 3) Spend energy to unlock blocked apps for a limited time 4) Build daily streaks, watch your stats climb, and shrink your scroll loops over time When your unlock time runs out, the block comes back on automatically. You stay in control, not the algorithm. What's Inside - App blocker: shield any apps you choose using Apple Screen Time. Your selection stays private and never leaves your device - Energy points: earn unlock currency by doing something real instead of scrolling - Push-up counter: drop and earn, with on-device motion tracking that counts your reps - Step counter: get up and move to bank energy - Lock in and focus timer: deep work sessions that reward you for staying off your phone - Meditation timer: calm down and reset - Touch grass: a nudge to step outside and reconnect with real life - Panic button: an instant reset for the moments you feel the pull hardest - Daily streaks: keep your momentum alive day after day - Personalized plan: a quick setup tailors your tasks and goals to your habits - Progress and stats: see your streak, energy earned, tasks completed, and history you can be proud of - Daily reminders: gentle nudges to keep your focus on track - Home screen widget: your energy and streak at a glance Good For 1) Reducing compulsive social media use 2) Breaking doomscrolling and short video habits 3) Building more intentional, mindful screen time 4) Staying focused on work, study, or the people in front of you 5) Creating friction before distraction takes over Why Rotcut Is Different Most apps try to block you and hope willpower does the rest. Rotcut gives you a system. You earn your access, you feel the trade, and over time the habit loop weakens. You still have to do the work, but Rotcut gives you the structure, the friction, and the motivation to actually follow through. No account or login is required to get started. Just open the app and begin. Start small. Stay consistent. Take your attention back. If you have ideas or questions, email us at hello@kopontech.com Full access requires a subscription. Deleted the apps. Set the limits. Bought a blocker. Still scrolling? reCalm starts with a breath, not a block. When you reach for the feed, it asks you for one breath first. Ten seconds. Then the app opens, if you still want it. That sounds like it should not work. It works because the reach is automatic and the breath is not. Most of the time you are not even interested in what you are looking at. You just opened it. One breath is enough to notice that, and noticing is enough to put the phone down. Why the blockers did not hold A block makes you angry at the app instead of the scrolling. So you disable it, or you wait out the timer doing nothing, or you find the loophole, because there is always a loophole. Then you are back where you started, and now you are paying for it. reCalm gives you nothing to get past. You can always continue. If you are still scrolling at the third check-in, it can shield the apps you chose, and even then one breath opens them. You set that rule. You can change it. The pause is the whole product. What it looks like A breath. One slow round, guided, with something to follow so you are not counting in your head. Your day, in a ring. Every pause you took, laid out over the hours, so you can see the shape of the day rather than a number that makes you feel bad about it. A quiet check-in. What you noticed, in one tap, when you want to. Nothing to fill in. Nothing that nags you if you skip it. Timi. A small grey stone that sits with you while you breathe. It does not celebrate, it does not shame you, and it does not have a streak to protect. What it will not do It will not lock your whole phone. It will not shield anything you did not ask it to shield. It will not report your screen time to anyone. It will not send you a guilt notification for a day you missed. It will not ask you to keep a streak alive. It will not sell or share what you write down. Price, said up front The breathing is free. All of it, every day. There is no daily count and no trial that switches off. The subscription adds the interruption: the check-ins that turn up while you scroll, your chosen apps waiting for one breath, and your full history with the day ring. Seven days free, then the price shown on the plan screen before you agree to anything. Cancel in two taps from Settings. We are saying this here because you have been caught by this category before, and so have we. Who it is for People who have already tried, more than once. Who know the brainrot by name and do not need an app to explain it. If you have never tried to fix this, you probably do not need us yet. Download it, take one breath, and see whether you still want the feed. Terms: https://www.reecalm.me/terms/ Privacy: https://www.reecalm.me/privacy/

Verdict
Rotcut and reecalm.me are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Rotcut sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and reecalm.me sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
