About

MusiCards Release Viewer

MusiCards is a visual MusicBrainz release browser and personal music player designed for exploring music data in a calm, clean and structured way. Search for artists, releases and tracks, scan CD barcodes, look up MusicBrainz release IDs, identify music using Shazam or Apple Music Now Playing, and explore detailed release, track and artist information. Connect an indexed local music library or your own Navidrome server to see which MusicBrainz releases you can play. Matching releases can be played directly in MusiCards with background playback and system media controls. The app organises music into five cards: β€’ SEARCH: Find artists, releases and tracks, scan barcodes, use Shazam, browse recent items and discover releases from Apple Music Now Playing. β€’ RELEASE: View cover art, release details, label information, release history and other available versions. Open the selected release in Apple Music when available, or play it from a connected library. β€’ TRACKS: Browse the complete track list. For classical music, composers, works and movements are displayed in a structured way instead of a flat list. Tap any track to see performers, creators and technical credits. β€’ ARTIST & DISCOGRAPHY: Read a short Wikipedia biography excerpt and browse a categorised MusicBrainz discography by year. English Wikipedia content is preferred, with another available language used when no English article exists. β€’ PLAYER: Play matching releases from an indexed local library or Navidrome. View artwork, track information, performer credits, playback source, audio route and decoded audio format. Control playback from MusiCards, the Lock Screen, Control Center or the system Now Playing interface. A MusiCards account is not required. Connecting a local library or a self-hosted Navidrome server is optional; the complete MusicBrainz browsing experience remains available without either. MusiCards is a personal project focused on clear and transparent presentation of music metadata. The app does not infer or generate missing information β€” if data is unavailable from its sources, it is shown as missing. Powered by MusicBrainz, the open music encyclopedia. MusicBrainz data is available under the Creative Commons CC0 licence. Cover art is provided by the Cover Art Archive.

About

RunOut for Discogs

Features

RunOut is a fast, focused tool for vinyl collectors and crate diggers. Search Discogs by catalog number, barcode, or text β€” and see at a glance whether a release is already in your collection. Built by record collectors, for record collectors. No bloat, no social feed, no ads. Just search, identify, and log records β€” quickly enough to use in a busy record store. Key features: * SEARCH FAST Look up releases by catalog number, barcode, or free text. Instant local search across your cached collection runs in parallel with the Discogs API. * KNOW WHAT YOU OWN Owned releases are highlighted at the top of every search result. Spot a duplicate before you buy. Find that pressing variation you've been hunting. * BARCODE SCANNER Use your iPhone camera to scan a record's barcode and jump straight to the matching Discogs release. * ADD ON THE SPOT Log a new record with media condition, sleeve condition, and personal notes β€” all in a few taps. Set defaults for the folder and conditions you use most. * POWERFUL FILTERS Narrow down releases by format, size (12", 7", 10"), year, country, and label. Multi-select everything. * YOUR COLLECTION, YOUR WAY Browse your full collection in list or grid view. Sort by artist, year, or title. Add private fields per release β€” purchase price, tags, custom notes β€” encrypted and synced across devices. * WANTLIST INTEGRATION See your Discogs wantlist, mark items as wanted from any search result, and check off purchases as you make them. * OFFLINE-READY Your collection is cached locally, so search works even without a connection. New releases sync the next time you're online. * LIGHT & DARK Pick the look that suits your record store lighting. REQUIREMENTS RunOut needs a free Discogs account and a personal API token to read your collection. The token is stored locally on your device β€” RunOut never sees it. Setup takes about 30 seconds; the in-app guide walks you through it. ABOUT RunOut is built by Linri AB. The same app is available as a free progressive web app at app.runout.io.
