Infinite scroll isn't broken. It's working exactly as designed. Slowth is the patch. WHAT IT DOES Slowth blocks distracting feeds and short-form content in Safari on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You choose what disappears while the useful parts of each site stay available. On iPhone and iPad, optional Real-time Blocking (Beta) can also detect YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels or Stories inside the native apps. Analysis happens on your device with Core ML. WHAT YOU CAN BLOCK IN SAFARI - YouTube Shorts — tabs, shelves, entries, and Shorts URLs - Instagram Reels — plus optional limits for Home, Explore, Stories, and additional Reels surfaces - Facebook Reels and Watch — plus an optional Home feed limit - X — Explore and trending surfaces - TikTok — the entire site Every supported service can also be blocked completely. Each site has its own mode picker, so you stay in control. Turn a mode off whenever you want — unless you deliberately enable Strict mode. STRICT MODE Strict mode locks your blocking choices for 24 hours. It survives restarts and force-quits, so a moment of temptation can't undo the decision you made for yourself. HOW IT WORKS For Safari: 1. Install and open Slowth. 2. Enable Slowth in Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. 3. Choose a mode for each supported site in the Slowth app. 4. Browse normally. Slowth hides or redirects the surfaces you blocked. For Real-time Blocking (Beta) on iPhone and iPad: 1. Allow Screen Time access and choose the YouTube or Instagram app. 2. Select Shorts, Reels, or Stories. 3. Start Slowth Realtime Shield from the recording card. Regular app screens remain available while Slowth monitors locally. If selected content is detected, iOS shows the Screen Time shield. The standard red recording indicator remains visible while monitoring is active. No Slowth account or login is required. WHY A SLOTH Sloths move so slowly that algae grows on their fur. That's the opposite of what an engagement algorithm is built to do — which is exactly the point. Meet Moss, our mascot. He's not in a hurry, and he doesn't think you should be either. WHO BUILT IT One independent developer. No venture capital, growth team, or A/B testing department. The biggest platforms use enormous teams to keep people scrolling. Slowth is a small, open-source patch that helps you stop. YOUR ATTENTION IS THE PRODUCT Every second spent scrolling can be sold to an advertiser. The platforms may feel free, but attention is the currency. Slowth steps between you and the part of the feed designed to keep you there. PRIVACY Slowth has no analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking, accounts, or developer-operated backend. We can't see what you browse or block. Settings and cached rules stay in the app's local container. The Safari extension periodically checks a public rules file on GitHub Gist so site fixes can arrive without an app update. No browsing history or page content is sent with that request. Real-time Blocking analyzes screen frames locally. Frames are not uploaded or saved during normal use. The bundled Core ML model and weights are licensed under GPLv3. FREE TO USE All blocking features are free. There is no subscription, paywall, premium tier, or "upgrade to unlock." Optional one-time tips may be offered as a way to support development. They unlock nothing and never change how Slowth works. SUPPORT Questions, bugs, or ideas: denis@malina.page P.S. If you read this far, you're already winning.
App Usage Limiter

You already know how much time you want to give an app. Free Full Usage Limiter is what makes that decision stick. Pick an app, give it a daily budget, and when the budget runs out the app stops opening. That's it. No streaks, no coaching, no account to create. SET LIMITS THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY THINK • Per app — give one app its own daily budget. • Per folder — group several apps together and give them a single shared budget. Twenty minutes across all your social apps, however you split it. When the budget is gone, they all lock at once. TWO WAYS TO BE STOPPED Friction mode leaves a door, but makes you work for it. To buy back a few minutes you type out a full sentence by hand — pasting is rejected — and then sit through a countdown that restarts if you leave the app. Most of the time you'll close it instead. That's the point. Absolute mode has no door. When the time is gone, it's gone until midnight. An absolute limit also can't be loosened or deleted afterwards; you can only make it stricter. Choose it when you already know you'll negotiate with yourself later. IT NOTICES WHEN YOU KEEP TRYING Every time you hit the lock screen, the message changes. The first one is a gentle nudge. By the tenth it isn't gentle, and it tells you how many times you've tried today. Seeing that number is usually what breaks the loop. SEE WHAT YOU GOT BACK A weekly report shows how much less you used your phone compared to the same point last week — overall and app by app. Not a guilt chart. Just the hours you took back. BUILT TO BE BORING ABOUT YOUR DATA No account. No sign-up. No subscription. No ads. No analytics. No third-party code of any kind. There is no server, because there is nothing to send anywhere. Your limits live on your iPhone and nowhere else. Your usage numbers are read inside an isolated system extension that Apple does not let apps read from — which means even this app cannot see them. That's also why the main screen shows a progress bar rather than a live countdown: iOS genuinely does not allow it. HONEST LIMITATIONS • Requires Screen Time permission. It's what makes blocking possible. • Blocks can take up to a minute to appear after your time runs out. That's how iOS reports usage. • Deleting this app removes every block, including absolute ones. Apple does not allow that door to be closed, and we'd rather tell you than pretend otherwise. Free, completely. There is no paid tier to upsell you to.
