Markday vs Big Day

Mark the days that matter. Markday is a Lock Screen and Home Screen countdown widget that quietly counts the days until what matters most — birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, trips, exam dates, and personal milestones. Beautifully native to iOS. Quiet by design. No clutter. No urgency colors flashing at you. No endless calendar grid to scroll through. Just the day count, presented quietly. Add an event in seconds, pick a category and an icon, and watch the days count down on a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget that respects your wallpaper, your battery, and your attention. Why people choose Markday - Calm, modern design that feels at home on iOS 17 and later, on iPhone and iPad - Multi-event dashboard, sorted by what is closest, with custom group labels you create yourself - Quiet, human-written notifications you can set for one week, two weeks, three weeks, one month, two months, or six months ahead - Yearly auto-rollover for birthdays, anniversaries, and other recurring days, so the next year is always ready - Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets that update when the day changes, not when an ad refreshes - Optional iCloud sync to keep countdowns aligned across your iPhone and iPad - Light and dark mode with a manual override, full Dynamic Type, and VoiceOver from the first day - Available in English, Turkish, French, Spanish, German, and European Portuguese Privacy you can verify Markday collects no personal data. Big Day turns the dates you're excited about into bright, glanceable countdowns you can pin anywhere — your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy. Holidays, birthdays, trips, paydays, due dates, anniversaries — add a countdown, give it a colour and an icon, and watch the days tick down (or up) every time you glance at your phone. WHY BIG DAY • Start free — create your first countdown and pin it as a widget, no account needed. • Beautiful, brightly-coloured cards that look great on any screen. • The little details other countdown apps get wrong: it says "Today" at zero, handles "1 day" correctly, and uses your local time zone — never UTC. WIDGETS, EVERYWHERE • Home Screen widgets in small, medium, and large. • Lock Screen widgets — rectangular, circular, and inline. • StandBy support for your nightstand. • Configurable: pick exactly which countdown each widget shows. MAKE IT YOURS • Curated colour palette for every countdown. • Icon and emoji picker. • Widget styles: number, progress ring, progress bar, or photo background. • Adjustable text size and legibility. COUNT DOWN — OR UP • Countdowns to future dates, and "days since" counters for the past. • Repeating events — annual, monthly, or weekly. • Local reminders as your big day approaches, plus a day-of nudge. TEMPLATES & SHARING • Seasonal and holiday template gallery — browse and add in a tap. • Export a shareable countdown card for any event. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-up, no tracking, no ads. • Your countdowns sync automatically through your own iCloud — free, login-less, and only you can see them. We never receive your data. BIG DAY PLUS Unlock the full colour library, photo-background widgets, shareable countdown cards, and unlimited countdowns with a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
