Given vs Namelli

Given helps you reach a real baby-name shortlist without endless browsing. Instead of dropping you into giant lists, Given shows a round of names and asks one simple question: which do you like best? Each choice helps the app understand your taste, bring better matches into view, and make the shortlist feel more solid over time. You can pick favorites in quick rounds, skip weak rounds when none feel right, see the names you keep coming back to in a name cloud and shortlist cards, narrow the pool when a gender filter helps, and keep your progress private, ad-free, and saved on your device. You can also back up and restore your data manually. Given is designed to feel calm and trustworthy, with no accounts, no ads, no subscription, and no data leaving the device by default. Free to start, with a one-time unlock for full access.

Namelli turns it into something you do together. Everyone in your naming group swipes through baby names on their own phone. The moment all of you swipe right on the same name, Namelli celebrates a Match in real time. HOW IT WORKS • Create a Namelli and pick your filters: gender, first or middle name, origins, names to avoid • Invite your partner, family or friends with one link or a simple code • Everyone swipes independently, whenever they have a minute • All-right on the same name = instant Match, with a notification for anyone who's away MADE FOR REAL COUPLES AND FAMILIES • Sound Worlds – discover names by sound and mood instead of endless A–Z lists • Supername – give one name a special highlight your group can't miss • Final Round – when the list gets short, rank your Top 10 together • Favorite folders – organize the names you keep coming back to • Your style – choose your color world, light or dark, and how cards and matches look NAMES YOU CAN TRUST Every name comes with origin and meaning, sourced from public data (German Federal Statistics Office, Wiktionary, Wikidata) with carefully reviewed etymology. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • 100% free – no in-app purchases, no ads • No third-party tracking, ever • Hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), fully GDPR-compliant • Delete your account and export your data anytime, right in the app Namelli is for the quiet evening on the couch, the long drive, the lunch break – every little moment where you and the people who matter get a step closer to the name. Start your Namelli and find the name, together.
