Track every pottery project from wet clay through glaze-fired, log the clay body and glazes you used, and keep your studio photos in one place instead of scattered across your camera roll. Each project moves through five stages — planning, greenware, bisque-fired, glazing, and glaze-fired — with separate parts for sets and series. The glaze helper counts coats as you brush them on, so you don't lose track halfway through a complex application. Browse a catalog of over 1,500 commercial glazes from major brands. Save your favorites, log your own test tiles, and see at a glance which of your past projects used a given glaze. The community feed is optional. Share finished work, see what others have made with the same materials, and skip the social part entirely if you'd rather just keep your own records. Works fully offline. Sign-in unlocks community post publishing, cloud backup, and a public profile — but the core journal works without an account. No ads, no analytics, no tracking SDKs.
GlazeBench

GlazeBench is the studio notebook for potters who take glaze chemistry seriously — and now for the whole firing, from the cone you aim for to the kiln that gets you there. BUILD A RECIPE, SEE THE CHEMISTRY Add materials and set percentages. The Unity Molecular Formula — silica, alumina, the SiO₂:Al₂O₃ ratio, and your flux balance — recalculates instantly, with your recipe's position plotted on the Stull chart. CATCH PROBLEMS BEFORE THE KILN Plain-language warnings flag a glaze likely to run, an immature melt, a silica ratio headed for crazing, or ingredients that don't total 100%. SCALE TO THE GRAM Enter any batch size and read every material weight in large, high-contrast numbers you can see from across the bench. FIRING (NEW) Pick the cone and the ware and GlazeBench writes the firing program from Orton's published Cone-Fire programs and cone chart: each segment, the curve, the top hold with an on-screen timer, and a controlled cool. Log what the witness cones did — including Orton's three-cone pack, read as under, on or over — and the next program suggests the Cone Offset step. KILN CARE (NEW) Measure each element section with a multimeter now and then. GlazeBench plots the resistance rise against L&L's change mark and forecasts the firing when new elements are due, from your own checks and firing pace. Thermocouples, relays and kiln wash get their own intervals by days or firings. METAL CLAY (NEW) Silver metal clay — PMC3, PMC+, PMC Flex, PMC Sterling and Art Clay Silver — fired to the maker's published schedules, by kiln or torch where the maker allows it, sized beforehand for the shrinkage the maker lists — then, as you log firings, for the shrinkage your own kiln gives. SOURCED, VERSIONED DATA Every oxide analysis, cone temperature and schedule carries its source, visible in the app. WORKS AT THE KILN Everything ships on-device. No signal in the studio is not a problem. FREE · Build, calculate and batch any recipe · Three firing programs, two kilns and six parts, three metal-clay pieces — each with every firing logged GLAZEBENCH PRO · Live UMF chemistry and the Stull map · Every firing program, and your own segment edits · Every kiln and part, with intervals by firing count · Every metal-clay piece, and your own schedules Pro is $39.99/year with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. A NOTE ON ACCURACY GlazeBench gives you guidance, not guarantees. Raw material analyses vary between suppliers — verify against your supplier's data sheet, leach-test glazes for food surfaces, and fire a test piece before you rely on a new program or schedule.
