Reduced Recipes

Recipes without the life story. You know the feeling. You search for "lemon chicken" and end up scrolling past a thousand words about someone's grandmother, three ads, a video that autoplays, and a "jump to recipe" button that takes you halfway down the page. You just wanted to know how much lemon. ReducedRecipes is the recipe app for people who are done with that. Every recipe in the app is reduced to what actually matters: ingredients, method steps, and timings. No prose. No backstory. No SEO padding. We index recipes from across the web, extract the structured data that tells you how to cook the dish, and throw the rest away. The original source is always linked and credited at the top of every recipe, so if you ever want the long version, it's one tap away. Search the way you actually cook - Type "chicken thighs and lime" and find recipes that use both - Filter by cuisine, dietary preference, or how long it takes - Browse by country, ingredient, or what's in season - Save anything that looks good for later Offline, always Save a recipe and it lives on your phone. No signal in the kitchen? No problem. Your saved recipes work fully offline, including ingredient lists and step-by-step cooking mode. Cooking mode Tap "Cook" and the screen stops sleeping. Steps are big and readable from across the counter. Swipe to advance. Tick ingredients as you measure them out. The phone stays awake until you're done. Shopping lists that aren't dumb Add a recipe to your shopping list and ingredients are aggregated automatically. Two recipes both call for an onion? You get one onion on the list. Quantities are normalised to sensible units. Tick things off as you shop. Dietary preferences that just work Set your preferences once (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher, dairy-free, nut-free, and more) and the app respects them across search, browsing, and recommendations. Inferred from ingredients, not from whatever the original blog claimed. Multilingual Recipes from anywhere in the world, automatically translated into your language at ingest. The original is always preserved and one tap away. Built on principles ReducedRecipes is not for profit. There are no ads in the app. Your data is not sold or shared. Running costs are covered by voluntary donations through Ko-fi, and any surplus goes to a South African charity that feeds homeless people. We pay for the servers ourselves until donations cover them. We only extract factual data (ingredients and method) which is not copyrightable, and every single recipe has prominent attribution back to the original author. Site owners can request removal at any time and we honour it within 24 hours. We respect robots.txt. We are good citizens of the web. The numbers Hundreds of thousands of recipes from over a hundred sources, with more added every day. Tens of millions of words of fluff already removed so you don't have to read them. Designed for the kitchen, not the feed No infinite scroll. No notifications begging you to come back. No streaks. No "engagement". Open the app when you want to cook, close it when you're done. That's the whole product. Free Free to download. Free to use. Free forever. No subscriptions, no premium tier, no upsells. If you've ever yelled at your phone trying to find the actual recipe, this is the app for you.
