[PRACTISING EVERY DAY IS THE HARD PART] You already own a metronome. You already own a tuner. The thing that actually breaks down is showing up every day. BeatMonster makes practice time something you can see β the longer you practise with the metronome running, the bigger your dinosaur gets. β PRACTISE WITH THE METRONOME, YOUR DINO GROWS β Pick a dinosaur as your practice buddy. It grows on your practice time: egg, baby, growing, grown β four stages. The 20 minutes you put in today don't vanish. They live in your buddy. β TEN MINUTES A DAY UNLOCKS YOUR CHECK-IN β Practise 10 minutes to unlock today's check-in, and the day streak builds up. Every check-in cracks your egg a little; five check-ins hatch a new buddy. Miss a day and the streak starts over β that's what keeps you picking the instrument up. Set a daily reminder time and your phone nudges you, so you never break the streak just by forgetting. β TWELVE DINOSAURS, ALL EARNED β Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Raptor, Pteranodon, T-Rex and more β twelve in total. Duplicates unlock alternate colours, and there are rare shiny variants. The Dex shows how far you've raised each one. β A METRONOME THAT DOESN'T DRIFT β Every beat is scheduled against the device's hardware clock, so a two-hour session stays dead on. β’ 40-240 BPM, with Tap Tempo β’ Time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 7/8 β’ Eighths, triplets and 16ths β’ Accent, normal, soft or mute on each individual beat β’ Four click tones, plus a visual beat light β’ Tempo Trainer: +1 BPM every few bars, to work a hard passage up to speed β KEEP IT RUNNING WHILE YOU READ THE CHART β Switch to a PDF score or a backing track and the metronome keeps going, mixed with your other audio. It still sounds with the ringer switch off β when you're practising, you need to hear it. Pull your headphones out and it stops instantly, so it never blares from the speaker. β TUNER BUILT IN β No second app. Guitar, bass, ukulele and strings all work, and the low E string won't get read an octave high. β NEVER STUCK ON HOW IT WORKS β There's a "?" beside each of the six main features. Tap it and it tells you what that one does. β A CLEAN PLACE TO PRACTISE β No account to create, no ads, and your practice history stays on your device. Pick up your instrument and play. Your first dinosaur is waiting in its egg.

Verdict
JazzNode and Beatmonster are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters β price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them β neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
