Dotria
Read full descriptionHide full description
Dotria is a strategy game about territory, played on an endless grid. You and your opponent place dots in turn. Enclose a group of enemy dots inside a closed chain of your own, and that ground ā and everything standing on it ā becomes yours. The rules take a minute to learn. Playing them well takes considerably longer. A COMPUTER OPPONENT THAT THINKS Dotria's opponent is not a set of canned replies. It searches the position each turn: it weighs a capture against what the trade hands back, it sees an encirclement forming several moves before it closes, and it defends the ground worth defending. Three levels ā Easy, Medium and Advanced ā and Advanced is a genuine opponent, not a formality. The engine is tuned from real games, and it keeps getting sharper. TWO PLAYERS, ONE DEVICE Pass the iPhone or iPad across the table. No account, no connection, no waiting for anyone. PLAY ANYWHERE Dotria works fully offline. No sign-in is required to play. BUILT TO BE LOOKED AT A board that stays legible whether you like it light or dark, dots you can size to your own eyes, and captured territory drawn so you can read the shape of a game at a glance. Game Center leaderboards, and your records carried across your devices through iCloud. Dotria is free and supported by ads. A single one-time purchase removes them permanently, on every device signed in to your Apple Account. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Dots

Dots: Perimeter is a polished mobile take on the classic paper-and-pencil dots game (also known as Kropki or Š¢Š¾ŃŠŗŠø) ā a deceptively deep abstract strategy game that's been played on graph-paper notebooks for generations. Place dots on grid intersections, take turns with your opponent, and try to surround their dots with a closed chain of your own. Every dot you trap inside the chain is captured and counts toward your score. Whoever controls more captured dots when the board fills up wins. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT ⢠Async-first. Make a move, close the app, come back when your friend plays. Push notifications let you know it's your turn. ⢠No clocks, no pressure. Take five seconds or five hours per move ā your call. ⢠Pure strategy. No dice, no luck, no power-ups. Every win is earned. ⢠Polished hand-drawn aesthetic. The board feels like graph paper; chains are wobbly pen strokes; shaded territory looks like soft pencil fill. PLAY HOW YOU LIKE ⢠Online with a friend ā share a 6-letter code to start a match. ⢠Practice against the AI for a quick game. ⢠Hot-seat ā pass one device back and forth. THEMES (Optional) The default Notebook theme is yours free, with cream paper and classic red/blue ink. If you want a different look, optional theme packs change the entire app's aesthetic: ⢠Blackboard ā chalk on slate ⢠Blueprint ā architect-grid white-on-blue ⢠Parchment ā aged paper, sepia ink Themes are cosmetic only. They never affect gameplay. WHAT'S INCLUDED FREE ⢠The full game (all rules, AI, online play) ⢠Interactive tutorial that teaches you the mechanics in five short lessons ⢠Match history across devices (sign in is automatic ā no email required) PRIVACY We use anonymous accounts (no email, no phone). Your matches and display name are stored only to deliver moves to your opponent. We don't show ads and we don't sell data. See the in-app Privacy Policy for the full breakdown. QUESTIONS? Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Dots at none against Dotria's shown. Dots also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). Dotria's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
