MeshMonitor Chat
Read full descriptionHide full description
MeshMonitor Chat is a native iOS client for talking to your Meshtastic mesh through a self-hosted MeshMonitor server. Connect your iPhone to your server with a host, a port and a Bearer token, and start reading and sending messages on any channel or private conversation in your mesh. FEATURES โข Channels: browse every primary and secondary channel on your mesh and jump into any of them with a tap. โข Direct messages: one-to-one conversations with nodes that have exchanged keys with yours (PKC). โข Unread inbox: a tab that gathers conversations with pending messages. โข Node list: hop count, last-heard time and online or offline state, with a filter to show only active nodes. โข Quick reactions: long-press a message to react with an emoji. โข Replies: quote any message and answer it from inside the conversation. โข Delivery state: every outgoing message shows whether it is pending, confirmed or has failed. โข Status panel: server version, app-to-server reachability, server-to-radio link, uptime and statistics. PRIVACY โข Your token is stored in the iOS Keychain and never leaves the device except to authenticate against the server you choose. โข No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, no telemetry. โข The app does not operate any server: you decide which MeshMonitor instance you connect to. REQUIREMENTS โข A MeshMonitor server reachable from your iPhone (local network or the internet, plain HTTP or HTTPS). โข A Meshtastic node attached to that server. โข A Bearer token generated from the MeshMonitor Settings page. OPEN SOURCE MeshMonitor Chat is free software released under the GPL-3.0 license. Source code, issue tracker and contribution links are available from the in-app Settings screen.
ReSpool

ReSpool writes the NFC tag that Anycubic ACE 3D printers read to identify filament. Anycubic only sells spools with these tags, so filament from any other brand is invisible to the printer. ReSpool writes a blank NFC sticker with the material, colour and printing temperatures of whatever spool you actually have, and the printer then recognises it like its own. WORKS WITH HOME ASSISTANT Every tag gets a unique spool ID, carried in the SKU. The hass-anycubic_cloud integration reads it from the Anycubic cloud, so Home Assistant can tell two identical reels apart and track how much filament is left on each. Connect the app to Home Assistant and the Library shows what is left on every reel, straight from what the printer has extruded. THE WHOLE ANYCUBIC RANGE A catalogue of more than 600 genuine Anycubic product codes ships with the app and works offline โ every colour of every line, with temperatures taken from scans of real spools. Pick a product and write it straight to a tag, or scan a genuine spool to add it for everyone. OPENPRINTTAG TOO Read and write Prusa's open standard, as shipped on every Prusament spool, on ICODE SLIX2 tags. OpenTag3D and OpenSpool are supported as well. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IS LEFT Put a part-used reel on the scales and the app works out the filament left, writes that to the tag, and can update it later on the same tag โ same spool ID, same history. Photograph a spool to pick up its colour. TWO TAGS PER REEL The ACE reads one face of the reel. Write a second sticker for the other side carrying the same spool ID, so the reel is recognised either way up and Home Assistant still sees one spool. SAFE BY DESIGN - Only the data pages are ever written; the UID, lock bits and configuration pages are unreachable - A full backup is taken before a single byte is written, and can be restored - Every page is read back and compared byte for byte - A tag already holding spool data stops and asks first - Pages that already hold the right bytes are skipped Needs blank NTAG213 stickers (or larger); Anycubic's own tags are password-locked and cannot be reused. OpenPrintTag needs an ICODE SLIX2. Requires an iPhone 7 or later.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: MeshMonitor Chat at every 3 weeks against ReSpool's every 2 months. ReSpool's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
