Beepline

Beepline turns your iPhone into a shot timer for the range and for dry-fire practice at home. Start a string, wait for the random-delay beep, and Beepline listens through the microphone and records every shot to the millisecond. Built for sport shooters, IPSC and USPSA competitors, airsoft practice and anyone drilling a draw at home. TIMED TO THE MILLISECOND Beepline takes t = 0 from the start beep it hears through your own microphone, not from the moment it told the speaker to play. That removes the output delay from the measurement, so your first-shot time is the real one, whether the beep comes from the phone speaker or from earbuds. WHAT YOU GET • Random start delay so you can't anticipate the beep • First shot, last shot, split times and total shot count • Par time with a second beep, and a clear marker when you run over • Big, high-contrast display that reads at arm's length, in portrait or landscape • Built-in drills: Bill Drill, 1R1 and FAST • Every string saved to a history you can scroll back through • Sensitivity presets for outdoor and indoor ranges • Back up all your data to your own iCloud Drive, and restore it on a new phone PRIVACY BY DESIGN There is no account and no sign-up. Beepline has no analytics of what you shoot and no crash reporting, and it never records or uploads audio — the microphone stream is analysed for shot onsets as it arrives and then discarded. Your strings, drills and settings stay on your iPhone until you choose to back them up to your own iCloud Drive folder. The free version shows one small banner ad on the home screen between strings, in Settings and in History, never while a string is being timed; Pro removes it. BEEPLINE PRO — one purchase, no subscription • Unlimited history instead of the last 5 strings • Custom drills you build yourself, plus the El Presidente preset • Custom random-delay range • Shot-cadence charts and session notes • CSV export of any session or your whole history • Manual sensitivity for awkward ranges • Four beep voices with adjustable pitch and length • Separate profiles, so two shooters can share one phone and keep their runs apart — and share a profile between phones • Open backups: plain JSON and CSV instead of an app-only bundle Pro is a one-time purchase. No subscription, no recurring charge, and it restores on your other devices with Restore Purchases. A NOTE ON ACCURACY Beepline is a practice tool. Phone microphones clip and compress loud impulses differently from a dedicated timer, so treat it as a training aid rather than a match-official device. Indoors, at a busy range, or with a suppressed firearm, run the calibration screen first and pick the sensitivity that suits. Beepline does not sell, advertise or link to firearms, ammunition or any other regulated goods. It is a timer.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: IPSC Shot Timer at none against Beepline's 1. IPSC Shot Timer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (4 vs 2). Beepline's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 5 days). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
