Cultran is a cultural translator for travelers, digital nomads, and anyone that wants accurate translations to another language. Speak, take a photo of a sign, or just type, and get translations that preserve meaning, tone, formality, and local context. Some languages have different words and meaning based on who you are, your age, your gender, and relationship to the person you’re speaking with. This is very hard to capture with common translators. With Cultran, you specify and set conversation rules for every conversation. We use state of the art AI and text to speech techniques to help you deliver exactly what you want to say in the context of the speaker, no more awkward, incorrect, or impolite translations. WHY CULTRAN Reads the room - Cultran considers who you are, who you are speaking to, and the situation so the same intent can sound casual, polite, formal, or honorific. Voice, camera, or text - Speak naturally, take a picture of visible text, or type when you cannot talk. Cultran translates each mode with the same tone and context. Cultural context - Get practical notes when wording might sound too direct, too casual, impolite, or easy to misunderstand. Say it yourself - Get easy to pronounce translations in your language so you can practice and say it yourself. Say it differently - Need another phrasing? Generate an alternate translation that keeps the same meaning and formality. Conversation history - Keep separate conversations for different trips, people, and language pairs. SUPPORTED LANGUAGES Cultran supports 13 languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese. NextCorner is a walking companion that knows the story of every street. The café that's been on this corner since 1931. The mural that went up last year and why. The building that changed the neighbourhood. The protest that started here. The musicians who played this block before anyone knew their names. Walk out the door and let the city talk. HOW IT WORKS Flow mode uses your GPS to sense when you're near a story and plays it automatically — no tapping, no looking down, just walking. Stories are 2–4 minutes, illustrated with original watercolour art, and written for people in motion. Prefer a guided experience? Choose a Journey: a curated walking route with a local narrator who takes you stop by stop through a neighbourhood's character. Or open the map, tap a pin, and browse at your own pace. EVERY CITY, EVERYWHERE Passport Mode lets you explore any city in the library — whether you're planning a trip, mid-travel, or just curious about a place you've never been. WHAT YOU'LL FIND Architecture and street art. Music venues and protest sites. Contemporary culture and living memory. The places that shaped a city's identity and the ones that are shaping it right now. The library grows every week across cities worldwide.
