Thread is built by Alex Watson, a solo founder who wanted to help people go deeper than small talk. What started as a side project to fix boring date nights became an app for anyone who wants better conversations with the people they care about. Finally, conversation starters tailored to your story. Describe your relationship — who you're with, your history, what you want to explore — and Thread generates conversation prompts built specifically for you. The more you share, the better the questions get. No two experiences are ever the same. Be intentional. Be present. Thread is the conversation card game for couples, friends, families, and anyone who wants to go deeper than small talk. Whether it's date night, a family dinner, a road trip, or a long overdue catch-up — Thread gives you the questions worth asking. Two ways to play: Custom Generated Decks: Describe your relationship/situation. Receive questions built around your actual story. A prompt that already knows you. It goes places a generic question never could. "I'm on family vacation with my whole family. Myself and my siblings are older with our own kids. Let's talk about fun times in our past, what we've learned, and legacy from our parents who are also with us and in their 70s." Receive questions based on the details you provide. Select from Filters: Choose your topic, your relationship type, and your level of depth — from lighthearted and fun to genuinely meaningful. Thread meets you where you are. Pre-Built Decks: 10,000+ questions across curated decks ready to go: Just Started Dating · Long-Term Love · Old Friends · Family · Fun with Kids · Spiritual · Hot Takes · That Was Awkward · Hypotheticals · Finish the Sentence · Break the Ice · and more on the way! Key Features include: -AI generation from your story. -Optional feature to turn off AI and pull from over 10,000+ questions -Save your Custom Decks in Your Library - Free to try. Get Real is a conversation card game with 300+ original prompts and an optional AI reflection partner. No accounts, no ads, no in-app purchases — just questions worth asking. Designed for adults. Made for the moments that matter — dinner parties, dates, long road trips, late-night apartment talks, and the quiet conversations we keep meaning to have with ourselves. Each question is an invitation — not an interrogation. Draw a prompt, share an honest answer, pass it around. No small talk, no winners, no scoreboards. Just the kind of exchange that actually moves a relationship forward. How it works • Tap "Draw a card" to pull from a curated deck of conversation prompts. • Filter by topic — relationships, identity, desire, grief, power, and more. • Build your deck — the core deck is inclusive, with optional Men's, Women's, and Queer expansion packs that add questions written for that group. • Swipe to navigate the deck. • Rotate your phone sideways for a full-screen "cinematic" view when you want the question to be the only thing on screen. • Set a per-question timer if you want to keep the conversation moving. Sit with this Sometimes you want to sit with a question on your own first. Switch on the optional "Sit with this" feature in Help, then tap it on any card to reflect one-on-one with an AI companion — a quiet voice that asks thoughtful follow-ups and never lectures.
