Y'KNOW vs Bao

Learn the culture, not just the language! Knowing the words is only part of understanding a culture. This app helps you build real-world cultural fluency, so you can better understand how to better communicate, behave, connect, and navigate everyday life in cultures around the world. Whether you're preparing for a trip, doing business abroad, connecting with family and friends, or simply curious about another culture, your experience is personalized around what matters to you. LEARN THROUGH REAL SITUATIONS Don't just memorize words. Step into realistic situations and learn by experiencing them. Practice what to say, how to respond, and what cultural cues to look for through interactive role-play scenarios inspired by situations you may actually encounter. Everything from meeting someone for the first time to ordering at a restaurant or navigating a business meeting. UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE BEHIND THE WORDS Language makes more sense when you understand the culture around it. Learn the customs, behaviors, etiquette, social norms, traditions, slang, food, entertainment, and everyday knowledge that help you better understand the people and places around you. LEARN WHAT MATTERS TO YOU Your cultural journey should be personal. Tell us why you're learning, what you're interested in, and how culturally fluent you want to become. Your learning experience adapts around your goals, whether you just want to get by, feel comfortable navigating everyday situations, or develop a deeper understanding of the culture. BUILD PRACTICAL LANGUAGE SKILLS Learn useful words and phrases in context instead of memorizing endless vocabulary lists.
