Common Prayer is a quiet, faithful companion for the Anglican life of prayer — the Daily Office, the Church year, and the discipline of fasting, all kept according to the Book of Common Prayer (1979). Whether you are new to the prayer book or have prayed it for decades, Common Prayer gives you the whole shape of the day without flipping pages or chasing lectionary references. Open the app and the right office, the right readings, and the right collect are simply there. THE DAILY OFFICE Pray Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline in full (Rite II), with everything resolved for today — psalms, the appointed lessons, the Collect of the Day, and the seasonal variations already in place. Pray on your own, or use the family form of the office together. SCRIPTURE, IN YOUR TRANSLATION Read the lessons in the King James Version offline, or choose the NIV, NIrV, or NASB 2020. The full Psalter is always close at hand. THE WHOLE CHURCH YEAR See where you stand in the liturgical calendar at a glance — the season, the week, the color. Holy Days and Principal Feasts are observed on their proper dates, with the prayer book's transfer rules handled for you, and optional commemorations of the saints surfaced day by day. KEEP THE FASTS AND FEASTS Common Prayer knows the days of fasting and special devotion appointed by the prayer book, and tells you plainly what today asks of you — and when the next fast falls. A DIGITAL FAST FOR DISTRACTING APPS Fasting has always meant setting something aside. Common Prayer lets you extend that discipline to your phone: using Apple's Screen Time controls, you choose which apps to quiet during a fast, and the app gently holds them shut until the day is done. Nothing leaves your device — it is simply a way to keep the fast you've chosen. PRACTICES FOR A DEEPER LIFE OF PRAYER - The Anglican Rosary, prayed with scripture and devotional cycles - The Daily Examen and the Examen of Conscience - Lectio Divina - The Great Litany - A library of Occasional Prayers and Thanksgivings TO LEARN AND TO REMEMBER The Catechism (An Outline of the Faith), the Thirty-Nine Articles, and the historic Creeds are included for reference and formation. BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY - Home Screen widgets that show today's office and season - Gentle reminders for the offices and the eve of a fast or feast - Siri Shortcuts to begin any office or practice by voice - Seasonal app icons, light and dark themes - Designed with care for larger text, high contrast, and unhurried reading PRIVACY Common Prayer collects no personal data. Your prayer life is your own.

Long before the monasteries, the early Christians paused to pray at fixed hours — dawn, midday, evening, and night. The monks kept that rhythm alive for sixteen centuries, letting bells draw them out of their work and back to God. Now Still brings that same ancient rhythm into your pocket. When the hour comes, a gentle monastery bell sounds. You stop. You pray. Then you return to your life, carried a little more gently than before. Still is a contemplative Christian prayer app built on seventeen centuries of practice — the Desert Fathers, the monastics, the mystics — with none of the gamification. No streaks to break. No badges to earn. No guilt when you miss a day. Just a quiet place to be with God. Built by a former Trappist monastic discerner (now a husband and father of five), Still is the app he wanted and couldn't find: one that treats prayer as a relationship, not a habit to optimize. WHAT'S INSIDE The Liturgy of the Hours — Pray the rhythm the Church has kept for centuries. Wake to Lauds, rest at Vespers, end the day with Compline, with psalms, readings, and collects that change with the liturgical season. Hear them spoken aloud, or pray them in silence. Monastery bells call you to prayer through the day. Contemplative Sitting — Silent prayer in the desert tradition. Thoughts will come; that is not failure. The returning is the prayer. Spiritual Paths — Guided journeys through the tradition — beginning with a 14-day Ignatian discernment of a decision. The Examen — The Ignatian practice of reviewing your day with God, gently and honestly. Lectio Divina — Sacred reading of Scripture, the ancient four-movement practice of letting a word find you. The Three Voices — Companion, Amma Sophia, and Deeper: contemplative guides drawn from the wisdom of the tradition, who come to know your journey over time. Reading Toward the Center — Twenty-six days through Revelation's mirror, pair by pair, to the room where the accuser has already lost. Ends each day in silence. The Guide — Ven. Louis of Granada's five movements: the seven roots, their remedy, and a journal that builds over time. A Rule of Life — Shape your own quiet rule, the way monastics have for 1,500 years. Your Spiritual Autobiography — Your practice, gathered over time. Days of prayer appear as light. The Dialogue Chamber — A dialogue in the school of Catherine of Siena and Catherine of Genoa. The tradition answers, never pretends to be God. Three exchanges, then silence. Darkness Mode — For when you're not ok. Lamentations. The dark Psalms. John of the Cross. Thérèse of Lisieux. Resources — Books, retreats, parish promotion. WHO IT'S FOR For the seeker who finds most "spiritual" apps hollow. For the Christian who wants depth, not dopamine. For anyone drawn to the stillness the saints knew — and tired of being optimized. "Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 — Still offers an optional subscription for full access, with a 14-day free trial. Hearing the Three Voices spoken aloud uses optional audio credits. Reading is always included. Privacy Policy: https://stillprayer.app/privacy Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
