The #1 thing you can do to maximize your fishing success is to fish bodies of water that have high quantities of the fish you are targeting. LakeLore makes this information easy to access and affordable for the average angler. It's a field guide to fish populations in publicly surveyed lakes. Decades of state fisheries netting surveys, electrofishing data, and stocking records, gathered into one atlas. No accounts. No ads. Minnesota is free. NOT A GOVERNMENT APP LakeLore is an independent app. It does not represent any government entity and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency. All fisheries data in LakeLore is public information republished from the official state agency sources listed below. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Search lakes by species, county, gear type, lake size, year, and stocking density. • View catch-per-unit-effort and average size for a given lake over time, broken out by gear type. • View stocking history — fry, fingerlings, yearlings, adults — with an estimated 'adult fish per 100 acres' overlay derived from a survival model. • Compare lakes side-by-side in a scatter plot. • Ask LakeLore where to fish for recommendations based on survey data. DATA COVERED • 38 US states, assembled from each state fish and wildlife agency's published surveys, forecasts, and stocking records. • Minnesota — free, no subscription. • Every other state is included in the LakeLore All-States subscription — and browsable in preview before you subscribe. FishingAdvisor tells you when the bite is on. Every read blends real-time conditions, solunar timing, and species behavior into a plain-English window for your water — right now, or any day this week. When the pattern lines up on your home lake, you get a heads-up before it hits. Not another weather app. FishingAdvisor is built around the question that actually matters: when should I go? What it does • Read the water. Tap once. Get a reply — dawn window, midday flat, pre-frontal bump — with the reasoning behind it. • Bite alerts. Push notifications when your home water's next bite window firms up in the forecast. Prep notice hours ahead, go-time notice right before it opens. • Plan ahead. Pick any day this week and see when the fish will be active — trip planning that doesn't lie to you. • Ice fishing built in. Same engine, cold-water lens. • Species-aware. Panfish, bass, walleye, trout, muskie, pike — different fish, different windows. • Gear that fits the read. Lure suggestions match the conditions the read describes. What it isn't • No subscription. No ads. No account required. • Minimal permissions — location only when you use it, never in the background. FishingAdvisor doesn't guarantee fish. Weather isn't destiny. But when the sky, the pressure, the moon, and the water align, you'll know before you leave the driveway. Ice fishing: this app does not verify or imply ice safety. Always check local conditions before going out.
