About

Paramedic Quick Reference

Features

A free, offline memory aid for ambulance clinicians and paramedicine students. It helps you remember what to ask, what to examine and what to write down, so nothing important is missed off the case card. It does not assess, diagnose, triage or recommend treatment. It is a documentation aid, nothing more. WHAT'S INSIDE Cases - 28 presenting complaints across cardiac and respiratory, neurological, trauma, abdominal and GI, mental health and tox, and general. Each lists the pertinent negatives that must be documented. On Examination - structured prompts for eight systems: central nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, integumentary, mobility, mental state examination, and consent and refusal (VIRCA). Each with a normal-findings template you can read straight onto the card. ECG - lead localisation, STEMI criteria including the sex- and age-specific V2โ€“V3 thresholds, OMI patterns (de Winter, Wellens, hyperacute T waves), Sgarbossa scoring and electrolyte changes. Clinical Signs - 22 eponymous examination findings grouped by region and by what they suggest, so you can work backward from a suspected diagnosis. How to perform it, what counts as positive, what it implies. Handover - a clean, sequenced handover script, read top to bottom. Field Protocols - METHANE major incident report, Road Crash Rescue extrication brief, ROSIER + ACT stroke assessment, and C-spine clearance for adults and for patients under 16. BUILT FOR THE BACK OF THE TRUCK Works entirely offline. No account, no sign-in, nothing to configure. Collects no data at all. Nothing leaves your device. Free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription. Dark by default, with a light theme. On your home screen it appears as Patient Care Record. IMPORTANT This app is a memory aid for completing case cards. It is not a clinical practice guideline, it is not issued or endorsed by any ambulance service, and it is not a substitute for your service's CPGs, protocols or clinical guidance - those always take precedence. Content is general reference material written with South Australian practice in mind and may be incomplete or out of date. Verify anything you act on against your service's authorised sources. Always apply your own clinical judgement and work within your scope of practice.

About

Rythmo

Features

Rythmo is a tap-per-breath respiratory rate counter. Watch the chest. Tap once for every breath you see. The first tap is breath one. Rythmo measures the gaps between your taps, takes the median interval, and converts that to breaths per minute. A rate appears from your second tap and sharpens with every tap after it. For paramedics, nurses, doctors, lifeguards, first aid responders and students. WHAT IT DOES Live tap-bpm. The rate comes from the median of your tap intervals, so one mistimed tap does not wreck the number. Intervals that sit far from the median are set aside rather than averaged in. Confidence indicator. Three levels, Low confidence, Settling and Confident, based on how consistent your taps have been. It reflects tap consistency, not clinical accuracy. Irregular flag. When the gaps between your taps vary widely, Rythmo says so, because a single median rate does not describe an irregular pattern well. Reference ranges. Seven age bands are listed at once, each marked in range or out of range against the current rate. There is no grading, no scoring and no interpretation beyond that. The paediatric ranges are as used in Australian prehospital practice, drawing on Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne guidelines, and the adult range is as in NEWS2 (Royal College of Physicians, 2017). The citation sits on the same screen as the table. Last 10 readings. Each one shows the time, the rate, how long it ran, the tap count and the final confidence. Kept on your device, and you can clear them whenever you want. Private by design. No account, no sign in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads. Rythmo makes no network calls and nothing from your readings leaves your device. Free, with no in-app purchases. Included for Apple Watch. The watch app runs on its own, with its own measure screen, age bands and history, and it does not need your iPhone nearby. Add it to your watch face as a complication and it opens on the measure screen in one tap. METHOD Tap-per-breath counting is described in the peer reviewed literature, beginning with Karlen and colleagues (PLoS One 2014;9(6):e99266) and the RRate app. Rythmo is written from the published description of that method. DISCLAIMER Rythmo is a reference and training tool. It reports a rate calculated from your own taps and displays published reference ranges for comparison. It does not diagnose, does not decide treatment, and does not replace your clinical assessment. Confirm every reading before you act on it or document it. For medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, consult a qualified healthcare professional. More at rythmo.com.au Privacy policy at rythmo.com.au/privacy
