Aquadex vs Tankstead

AquariumLog is a professional aquarium parameter management system designed for hobbyists who treat fishkeeping as a science. PARAMETER TRACKING • 6-parameter water test log: pH, NH3 (ammonia), NO2 (nitrite), NO3 (nitrate), temperature, salinity • Threshold-based status engine — automatic safe / warning / danger classification per parameter • Per-tank historical record with reverse-chronological access ANALYTICS • pH trend chart with ideal-line overlay (7.0 reference) • Nitrogen cycle chart — ammonia, nitrite, nitrate plotted together • Temperature chart with ideal range (78°F) • Days-running counter, test count, care log count, fish census CARE WORKFLOW 9 care types: water change (with gallons logged), feeding (with food type), filter cleaning, glass cleaning, gravel vacuum, equipment check, algae removal, plant trimming, other. TANK & LIVESTOCK MANAGEMENT • 7 tank type presets — freshwater, saltwater, brackish, planted, betta, goldfish, cichlid • Capacity tracking in gallons • Fish & invertebrate inventory with name, species, date added, alive/deceased status • Per-tank notes DATA OWNERSHIP • Built on SwiftData (Apple native persistence) • 100% on-device storage — no cloud sync, no account, no telemetry • One-tap JSON export of all tanks, tests, logs and livestock • Zero network calls, zero third-party SDKs PLATFORM • iOS 17+ / iPhone-only • Native SwiftUI, optimized for the latest iPhones • Built-in iOS Charts framework If you keep precise records, run controlled water changes, and want to see your nitrogen cycle in graphs — this is your tool.
