For gamers that care about their inputs. Connect a pad, stick, or leverless and see exactly what iOS is reading from it. Every button, every analog stick position, every trigger value, in real time. Run the drift monitor before a session to catch a stick that's misbehaving. Pop open the raw input dump when something feels off and you want the actual numbers your controller is sending to the system. The built-in reaction test reports results in both milliseconds and frames ā the standard measurement unit for fighting games that run at 60 FPS. Use it to benchmark your reaction or to compare response times between different controllers or buttons. On ProMotion displays (iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and later) the app samples inputs at up to 120 Hz, so the measurement itself runs as fast as the hardware allows. Frame values still display against the 60 fps fighting-game standard so they're comparable across devices. Button labels match what's actually on your controller. Plug in a DualShock or DualSense and you'll see Ć, ā, ā”, ā³. Plug in a Switch Pro Controller and you'll see A, B, X, Y in their real Nintendo positions. Xbox and generic pads stay with A, B, X, Y. No more squinting at "Button 12" wondering which physical button it maps to. Tested controllers include the PlayStation DualSense, DualSense Edge, and DualShock 4; the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller; the 8BitDo Ultimate (2.4G); and generic Xinput and Bluetooth gamepads. Anything iOS recognizes as an Extended Gamepad through Apple's GameController framework will work. Keyboards and mice are supported too. When no controller is connected, the buttons panel surfaces live key presses and mouse-button states ā useful for arcade controllers, fightsticks, and boards that pair as a keyboard rather than as a gamepad. Note that some controller will swap the left analog stick and the D-pad. If you see this, tap the LāD toggle above the on-screen D-pad to swap them back. iPhone users typically don't see this. If a controller doesn't show up automatically, try a wired USB connection. iOS often recognizes over USB what fails over Bluetooth. If your controller has a mode switch (most FGC boards do), try Nintendo Switch, PC, or XInput mode; those modes have the highest compatibility with iOS. Not compatible with Brook Wingman FGC or FGC 2. App is fully offline, ad-free, and does not collect data.

WHAT YOU CAN TEST ⢠Buttons and triggers: see every press register instantly, with live trigger pressure values. ⢠Analog sticks: precise X and Y readouts make stick drift easy to spot. Leave the sticks centered and watch for unwanted movement. ⢠D-pad: confirm all four directions and the diagonals. ⢠Rumble and haptics: fire built-in vibration presets, or set the left and right motor strength and duration yourself. ⢠Battery: see your controller's charge level when it reports one. ⢠Controller light: change the LED color on DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers. THREE TEST MODES ⢠Generic Gamepad: a clear, labeled layout with live values and a live input update rate readout. ⢠Universal Gamepad: works with any controller by mapping every input to a numbered slot, ideal when a controller is not fully recognized. ⢠Vibrate Tester: presets and manual controls for rumble and haptics. WORKS WITH ⢠MFi-certified controllers, such as Backbone One and Razer Kishi ⢠Xbox controllers over Bluetooth ⢠PlayStation DualShock 4 and DualSense Controllers that iOS does not recognize natively may not appear, even if they work on other platforms. NO SETUP, NO ACCOUNT Just connect a controller and start testing. There is no sign-in and no configuration, and your controller input is processed on your device. A built-in User Guide covers pairing, supported controllers, battery, stick drift, vibration, and troubleshooting. Gamepad Tester is free and supported by ads.
