Daily Steps
Read full descriptionHide full description
The step counter that never guesses ā you type your daily steps, Daily Steps turns them into a filling goal ring, a 30-day dot grid and a streak worth protecting. Daily Steps is a manual step log. No motion sensors, no Health access, no location, not a single permission prompt. It will not count steps automatically ā it is the clean written record for people whose steps already get counted somewhere else, or who simply want to log an honest number and get on with their day. WHAT YOU GET ⢠Finish your morning loop, tap +1,000, and today's ring fills before the phone is back in your pocket ⢠A 30-day dot grid where every goal-met day turns solid blue ā three pale dots in a row is all the motivation you need ⢠Your current and longest streaks counted for you, so a 14-day run becomes a reason to walk tonight ⢠An optional note on every entry ā read "8,450 on the treadmill, sore calf" when you look back next month ⢠Forgot to log Tuesday? Back-date any day and your streak and stats update instantly ⢠Weekly bars and a 30-day trend line against your target, plus goal-met rate, average and best day ā and your whole log exports as a CSV file you own PERFECT FOR ⢠Treadmill and gym-machine walkers whose phone sits in the cup holder, not their pocket ⢠Privacy-minded people who refuse to give an app 24/7 access to their motion data ⢠Anyone whose watch or pedometer already counts ā and just wants one simple place to write the number down ⢠Habit builders who'd rather type one honest figure a day than manage another auto-tracking dashboard WHY NOT JUST AN AUTOMATIC PEDOMETER? Automatic counters need always-on sensor access, miss every step you take on a treadmill or with the phone on your desk, and pad the screen with estimated calories and distance. Daily Steps does the opposite: it records exactly what you tell it ā nothing more, nothing invented. If you want an app that counts for you, this isn't it. If you want a step diary you fully control, it is. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your entries live in a local database on your device. No account, no cloud, no ad SDKs, and because there are no sensors, there is nothing to track. Delete the app and the data is gone ā it was never anywhere else. FULL ACCESS Daily Steps requires Daily Steps Pro, unlocked by a Weekly or Yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Full access includes step logging with the goal ring and quick-add buttons, the 30-day dot grid, complete history with notes, streaks, weekly and monthly trend charts with insights, and CSV export. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Type today's number and light up dot number one. Footfall

Footfall shows the steps your iPhone already counted, and almost nothing else. It has no step counting algorithm of its own, and that is the point. It reads the daily totals from Health, the one place on iOS where an iPhone and an Apple Watch are added up without the same walk being counted twice. The number here is the number there. No second opinion, no arguing with your watch about this morning. The rest of the app puts that number in front of you. A widget on the Home Screen. A circle or a rectangle on the Lock Screen. A medium widget for the week. They refresh through the day, and say so rather than pass off yesterday's total as today's. ON YOUR WRIST Ten years after the first Apple Watch, no built-in complication shows a step count as a number. Footfall does, in four shapes, on any face with room for one. The watch reads Health on the watch, so the count is right even when the iPhone stayed at home, and there is nothing to fall out of sync. The complications are free, like every other widget here. ONE SCREEN, TOP TO BOTTOM A ring that warms from clay to amber and turns gold at your goal, with the count rolling in the middle. The shape of the day: twenty four hourly bars that show when you walked, not only how much. The week in seven bars you can tap, and tapping one moves the top of the screen to that day. The month as dots, each one sized by its steps, and a swipe back through the months before it. Then four numbers: your seven day average, your thirty day average, your best day, and the days you met your goal. NOTHING YOU DID NOT ASK FOR No account. No ads. No analytics. No notifications, no badges, no levels. The streak stays off until you turn it on, because a streak nobody asked for turns into a debt. The app opens no network connection at all, so nothing can leave the phone. Nothing is written back into Health either. FOOTFALL PLUS Counting, the widgets, the watch complications, the goal, kilometers or miles, the day, the week and the month are free and stay free. Footfall Plus is one payment, once, and it adds every past month one by one, the full year day by day, your rhythm by day of the week, records and totals from the first day Health holds, and a CSV export. No subscription. Nothing renews. WHAT IT NEEDS Permission to read steps and walking distance from Health, and nothing else. iOS has been recording those since you got the phone, so your history is usually there the first time you open the app. If you have never walked with the iPhone on you, Footfall will show you an honest empty day. Available in 45 languages. iPhone, iOS 18 and later. Apple Watch, watchOS 11 and later.
