Every practice session you don't write down disappears. DanceLog is a practice diary for dancers: log the style, the minutes, how it felt and what you drilled — then watch your streak and your weekly hours build, session by session. This is not a learn-to-dance app and not a dance workout. It is a rehearsal log built around one job: keeping you consistent. The streak is computed the way dancers actually practise — a 30-day run doesn't collapse to zero just because you haven't danced yet today. Rest days show up as real gaps in the chart instead of being quietly squeezed out. WHAT YOU GET • Open the app and your streak is the first thing you see — plus this week's minutes, sessions and styles, before a single tap • Log a session in seconds: pick one of 8 styles from Salsa to Ballet, set the minutes and your mood, and jot what you drilled • A 14-day trend chart that shows every day — so a sporadic month can't disguise itself as a solid fortnight • A weekly goal ring: set your minutes-per-week target and watch it fill as the week goes on • Time by style: see that Bachata got 6 hours this month while Ballet got 40 minutes, and rebalance • Style insights that flag neglect — "3 weeks since Tango" before your partner has to say it PERFECT FOR • Social dancers juggling salsa and bachata nights who want proof they're improving • Ballet and contemporary students tracking studio classes and home practice together • Ballroom couples logging rehearsals in the run-up to a competition or showcase • Choreographers who need a dated note of what each rehearsal actually covered WHY NOT JUST A NOTES APP? A note can't count a streak, sum your minutes for the week or chart your last fortnight. And it will never tap you on the shoulder to say it's been three weeks since you touched Swing. DanceLog does the arithmetic so your notes become a record of progress, not just a pile of text. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your sessions live in local storage on your iPhone. No account, no tracking, no cloud. Your entire log exports to CSV whenever you want it — it is your practice record, and it stays yours. FULL ACCESS There is no free tier and no trial: a purchase opens the whole app, including the weekly goal ring, the 14-day trend chart, the time-by-style breakdown and style insights. Choose a weekly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings. Log tonight's practice — the streak starts with one session. Made for dancers, by dancers. Dance Diary is your personal space to log every class, remember every correction, and watch your progress grow — while taking care of the dancer behind the technique. LOGGING A CLASS TAKES SECONDS Add your weekly schedule once, and each class appears on the right day ready to log in a single tap. Style, duration, teacher, corrections, how hard it felt, and how your body is doing. Two classes in one day? Log them both. NEVER LOSE A CORRECTION Keep every note your teacher gives you, organized by body part and by teacher, and move each one from Focus to Improving to Mastered. A correction you haven't worked on in a while quietly comes back so it isn't forgotten. CAPTURE CORRECTIONS BEFORE YOU FORGET Straight after class, type everything your teacher said — one per line — and save them all at once. Tag them later, when you have a moment. PRACTISE WITH INTENT Start a timer against the correction or skill you are actually working on, and the minutes land against that thing. Working on something counts, even before it clicks. THE THINGS YOU ARE CHASING Corrections come from your teachers. Skills are the ones you set yourself — a double pirouette, splits on the left — with a dated log that proves they moved. WRITE TO THE DANCER YOU'LL BE Seal a letter to yourself, opened in one month or one year. Dancers change faster than they notice. A SUMMARY YOU CAN SHARE Turn a season into a plain summary — classes, hours, teachers, performances, corrections mastered — for a teacher, an audition, or an application. WRITE DOWN THE CHOREOGRAPHY Combinations noted the way you count them — in eights — so what you learned on Tuesday is still there on Thursday. Plus a glossary of over fifty dance terms, with pronunciations, for the days a teacher uses a word you don't know. SET GOALS THAT MEAN SOMETHING Weekly and monthly goals with progress tracking. Unfinished goals can be carried into the new week with one tap, and past goals stay as a record of how far you've come. OWN THE STAGE Competitions, recitals, and auditions with countdowns, a packing list for each one, and a two-minute Backstage moment for the wings — breathing, and then your own training hours read back to you, because "you are ready" means more when it's arithmetic. CARE FOR YOUR MIND, TOO A daily mood check-in, guided box and 4-7-8 breathing, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, a progressive body scan, reflection prompts you can read back any time, and 36 affirmations written for dancers. If you keep flagging discomfort, the app offers a recovery mode that hides streaks and gets gentler until you're ready. SEE YOUR OWN PATTERNS Mood over the past month, how your body has felt, hours by style and teacher, a Year in Review worth sharing, and quiet observations drawn from your own entries — all worked out on your phone. YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS No accounts. No ads. Everything you write stays on your device — the app shares only anonymous usage statistics, which you can switch off. Optional Face ID lock, optional daily reminders, and one-tap backup export and import so your history follows you to a new phone. Three hand-crafted themes — Ballet Rose, Studio Warm, and Night Bloom — make your diary feel like home. Your journey in dance is yours alone — and it is beautiful.
