Wine Journal
Read full descriptionHide full description
A wine journal for every bottle you taste. Log the wine, the vintage, the region and your score in under a minute โ then find that bottle again months later, when you are standing in front of a wall of labels and cannot remember which one you loved. Most people track wine in a photo roll full of unreadable labels or a notes app they never reopen. WineLog gives each bottle a real record โ producer, vintage, wine type, region, country, price, tasting notes, food pairings and a 1-5 score โ plus a cellar that separates what you still have, what you want to buy, and what you have already drunk. Everything is stored on your device, so your journal opens instantly and works with no signal at all. WHAT YOU GET - A searchable tasting journal you can filter by wine type or favorites, so any bottle is two taps away - A cellar view that splits your bottles into In Cellar, Wishlist and Drunk, so you know what to open and what to buy - Charts of your own palate: bottles by type, average score per type, tastings over the last 6 months, and a breakdown by country - A label photo saved with each entry, so you recognise the bottle on the shelf instead of guessing - A Discover section with 8 food pairing guides and 8 classic regions โ Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa Valley, Tuscany, Champagne, Rioja, Mosel, Mendoza โ and their key varietals - Somm, a built-in wine advisor that answers questions on pairings, regions, varietals and tasting terms with no internet connection PERFECT FOR - Wine drinkers who keep buying the same forgettable bottle because they never wrote the good one down - Collectors who need to know what is in the rack and what is still on the wishlist - Restaurant and tasting-room regulars who want notes captured at the table, not later - Anyone learning wine who wants pairing and region reference in the same app as their own notes WHY NOT JUST USE A NOTES APP A note is text you have to read back. WineLog is structured: because every entry carries a type, a score, a country and a date, the app can show you that you rate Rioja higher than Napa, that you drink more white in summer, and which vintage you scored a 5. A notes app cannot do that, and it cannot tell you what is left in your cellar. PRIVACY Every tasting, photo and note stays on your iPhone. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics. This is your personal wine diary, not a marketplace. FULL ACCESS Full access unlocks unlimited tastings, ratings, notes and label photos, the complete cellar and wishlist, palate insights and charts, the pairing and region library, and Somm โ available as a weekly plan, a yearly plan, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. The lifetime option is a single payment and does not renew. Please enjoy wine responsibly. Intended for users of legal drinking age. Open the app the next time a bottle impresses you and log it before the glass is empty. Decanted
Read full descriptionHide full description
A private journal for the wine you drink. Photograph the label. Decanted reads what it can - producer, name, vintage, region, grapes, alcohol - and fills the form in for you. Every field it suggests is marked, so you can see what came from the label and correct anything it got wrong before you save. Then add what only you know: a rating out of ten, where you were drinking it, what you paid, and a note you will be glad to have in two years. NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Your bottles, photographs, notes and ratings are stored on your device and nowhere else. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go. You can give yourself a name and a photograph if you want them. The name travels only inside a file you choose to send. The photograph never leaves at all - it is not in a backup, not in anything you share, and not on a card you export. Reading a label happens on your device too. The text recognition is Apple's, running locally, so the photograph never leaves your phone to be read. If you allow location access, Decanted can fill in where you were drinking. The place name is looked up through Apple and only the name is saved - your coordinates are not stored, and you can leave location switched off entirely. BUILT FOR A COLLECTION THAT GROWS - Search by producer, name, region or grape - Filter by style, country, vintage, rating or favourite - Sort by what you tasted last, what you rated highest, or by vintage - Card grid or compact list, whichever you prefer - Similar bottles suggested from what you have already saved, so you can see what a new wine reminds you of WHAT IT ADDS UP TO Once there are enough bottles to say something, the journal starts answering questions you did not think to ask. Which countries and styles you actually drink, which grapes and vintages, where you were when you drank them, and how you tend to score. Alongside the charts, your top wines - overall, and within each style and country - ranked from the ratings you gave. There is nobody else's score involved and none is asked for: these are your opinions, counted. SEND A BOTTLE TO SOMEONE Share wines with another Decanted reader as a file. What arrives is kept aside until they choose to add it, and their journal remembers who it came from. Nothing goes anywhere until you send it, and you choose how. YOURS TO KEEP Export the whole journal - entries and photographs - as a single ordinary zip file. The wines are readable JSON and the photographs are ordinary images, so you can open it anywhere, not only here. Import it back on another device, or keep it as the backup that a journal with no server behind it needs. ALSO - Free, with nothing to buy inside it - No advertising and no tracking of any kind - Works with no connection at all - VoiceOver and Dynamic Type supported throughout - Light and dark Decanted is a record of wine you have already tasted. It is intended for adults of legal drinking age.
