About

LogPlan

LogPlan turns a log into a cutting plan. Scan the log ends with your phone โ€” and it lays out every cut, every rotation, every board, with the exact height settings for your mill. Built for small sawmills and the people who run them, it follows the wood the whole way: from the log in the woods to the dry board on the shelf. HARVEST Register logs where they fall. Use the phone camera to scan the log ends and it will automatically read dimensions, detect pith and log length, and create a thumbprint of the log for later identification at the mill. SAWMILL Load a log, add your board dimensions, and LogPlan works out the rest โ€” then walks you through the cut sequence one pass at a time. Mill height settings in millimetres/inches and "clicks" (if supported by the mill) for adjustments between cuts. Both chain mills and band mills supported. DRYING YARD Stack your boards and track them as they dry. LogPlan forecasts the moisture curve for each stack from real climate data, and pins every group to its spot in the yard, so you know what's where and when it's ready. No labels stapled to the wood โ€” point your phone at the pile and a tag floats over each board group, showing its live moisture and drying curve right where the boards sit. Mixed dimensions in one stack each get their own. โ€” LogPlan is free to plan cuts for manually entered dimensions. Sawmill Starter and Sawmill Pro unlock measuring logs with your phone, saved logs, harvest registration, drying tracking and more. โ€ข Sawmill Starter and Sawmill Pro are auto-renewing subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. โ€ข Prices are shown in the app and vary by region. โ€ข Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. โ€ข Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. โ€ข Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings. About

Sawmill Planner

Features

Sawmill Planner is the band-mill operator's app: type the log, get the cutting pattern with blade heights, saw step by step, and show the boss a shift report at the end of the day. Works offline, with gloves on. CUT PLAN Enter the small-end diameter and the length. Get three patterns: by plan, max yield, fewer cuts. The end view shows every board and slab, with pieces, yield and lumber volume. STEP BY STEP (PRO) The blade height for every cut, big enough to read from the mill. The log turns on screen the way it lies on the saw. Tap anywhere for the next step; the screen stays on. RECORD WHAT CAME OUT (PRO) Square boards go to the shift. Flitches with wane go to a pile by size, to edge later on the band mill or sell unedged. PRODUCTION PLAN (PRO) Pieces per size the boss asked for. Patterns go for those sizes first, and the plan fills up as you saw. SHIFT REPORT (PRO) Logs sawn, round wood, lumber, yield and plan done on one screen. Share it as a picture. LOG VOLUME (PRO) Doyle, Scribner, International 1/4, Huber, Hoppus, JAS, plus board feet and pieces per cubic metre. APPLE WATCH With Pro, the chosen cut plan goes to your wrist: blade height and the log end on the watch, step by step with the Digital Crown. Metric or imperial, kerf and allowances, your own board sizes. Nine languages. Free: calculate a log and look at the cut plan. Sawmill Planner Pro unlocks everything, with a 7-day free trial, as a monthly or yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
