Kids Visual Countdown Timer vs TicTali

Transform daily struggles into calm routines. A visual countdown timer that helps toddlers, students, and neurodivergent kids understand time without tantrums or tears. Kids don’t understand time. Telling a toddler or an ADHD-brained child they have "five more minutes" means nothing to them—until they can actually see it slipping away. Kids Timer Visual Countdown bridges the gap between adult schedules and a child’s brain. By turning abstract time into a clear, visual shape that shrinks as time passes, you eliminate the anxiety, arguments, and power struggles that come with daily transitions. Whether you're trying to get them out the door for school, enforce screen-time limits, or help them focus on homework, this timer acts as a neutral third party. It’s no longer you telling them time is up; it’s the timer. PERFECT FOR DAILY ROUTINES • Morning Rush: Getting dressed, eating breakfast, and getting out the door without nagging. • Screen Time: Clear, visual boundaries for when the TV or tablet turns off. • Bedtime: Gentle wind-down routines so kids know exactly when it's time for sleep. • Hygiene: 2-minute tooth brushing or potty training intervals. • Homework & Study: A kid-friendly Pomodoro focus timer to break tasks into manageable chunks. WHY IT WORKS FOR NEURODIVERGENT MINDS Children—especially those with ADHD, Autism (ASD), or executive dysfunction—process visual information far better than auditory commands. As the visual countdown shrinks, kids intuitively grasp the concept of "elapsed time." This reduces transition anxiety and empowers them to manage their own routines independently. KEY FEATURES • Distraction-Free Interface: Clean, high-contrast visuals without the overwhelming clutter or gamification that distracts from the actual task. • Customizable Durations: Set any countdown from a quick 1-minute chore to a 60-minute study session. • Gentle Transitions: Soothing, non-jarring alarms when time is up to prevent sensory overload. • Quick Presets: Save your most frequently used timers for daily chores, reading, and playtime. Stop fighting over the clock. Give your child the visual tools they need to understand time, build focus, and master their daily routines. Have questions or feedback? We'd love to hear from you! TicTali is a visual time and routine tool for parents, caregivers and educators. An adult configures and controls the experience, then shows its clear pictures and gentle animations to young children to help them understand what is happening now, what comes next and how time passes. RIGHT NOW Place today's activities on a moving time scale. Overlapping activities remain visible, while the sky, sunlight, moon, clouds, rain and snow reflect the time and weather in the selected area. The adult can use an approximate area or choose the weather location manually on a map. VISUAL TIMERS Choose a duration and turn waiting into something children can see. Stars, hearts, balls, bubbles, fairies, teddies, funny monsters, cars and unicorns can fill or disappear as time passes. Other scenes include flowering trees, falling leaves, water, mosaics, a rainbow landscape, a multicolour ring, a friendly bomb, a flood, digital and mechanical stopwatches, and an hourglass. The adult can choose whether to show digital time, play a sound, vibrate, continue the timer in the background or send a local notification when it ends. ROUTINES Plan everyday activities by weekday, date and time. Use the included illustrations or create a custom activity with a picture from the device. Personal pictures remain privately on the device and TicTali never uploads them to a server. DESIGNED FOR ADULT-GUIDED USE • Configured and controlled by a parent, caregiver or educator • Visual experience to show to young children • Phones and tablets, in portrait or landscape • Approximate location used only to display local weather • Manual weather location available • Optional one-time purchase to remove ads forever TicTali does not require an account and is not intended for children to operate independently. It is a visual aid for shared, adult-guided use and does not replace adult supervision.
