Second Leaf AI vs GoodVibesJar

Most plant apps stop at naming your plant. Second Leaf AI tells you what's actually wrong with it — and shows you the proof. Photograph a struggling leaf, mark what you see, and get a calm, honest diagnosis: the likely cause, what else it could be, a clear action plan, and real reference photos to compare against your own plant. Not "treat for fungal rot immediately!!!" — just a measured second opinion. DIAGNOSE FIRST Most apps obsess over identifying the species. We do that too — but the real value is when something's wrong. Frame the affected leaf, tap the symptoms, add a note. We cross-reference what's in the photo with what we know about your climate, and give you a structured read. SEE IT FOR YOURSELF Every identification and diagnosis shows real reference photos beside the result. Compare your plant against actual examples instead of taking our word for it — tap any photo to enlarge, with full source credit. HONEST ABOUT CONFIDENCE Every diagnosis shows a confidence level — low, likely, or very likely — and lists alternative explanations. AI can be wrong, and we say so on every result. CLIMATE-AWARE We use your location once to find your climate zone (USDA, RHS, or Köppen-Geiger), then forget the coordinates. Advice adapts to your zone and season — watering in May looks different in California than in Singapore. CALM BY DESIGN No streaks, no shouting, no FOMO. Quiet, editorial typography and one gentle celebration — never confetti spam. No ads, ever. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your plants and photos stay on your phone. No account, no email, no sign-up, no analytics. We strip location metadata from photos before any AI processing. Optional daily backup goes to your own iCloud Drive. PRICING Free — manual plant tracking, no AI, up to 4 plants. Lite ($1.99/mo) — 15 diagnoses + 10 plant IDs a month, up to 20 plants. Pro ($4.99/mo or $11.99 / 3 months) — 60 diagnoses + 30 plant IDs a month, unlimited plants, with a 3-day free trial. All paid plans auto-renew until cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Apple ID Settings. The free trial is available once per Apple ID across both Pro plans; during the trial you have Lite limits — a real taste of Pro at the safer cap.
