About

Moses’ Torah

Step back into the First Temple period and read the Torah in the script of ancient Israel. Moses’ Torah is an interactive reader and study tool for the Torah in Paleo-Hebrew (Ktav Ivri, the Old Hebrew script). Built for students of Biblical Hebrew, epigraphers, Karaite and Torah-centered readers, and ancient history enthusiasts, it pairs the consonantal text of the five books of Moses with a word-by-word lexicon. ANCIENT SCRIPT, MODERN STUDY TOOLS Paleo-Hebrew was the script of ancient Israel and Judah before the Babylonian exile. Read the whole Pentateuch in it: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. KEY FEATURES • PALEO-HEBREW TEXT The consonantal Westminster Leningrad Codex, drawn in a lapidary Paleo-Hebrew typeface modeled on ancient inscriptions, right to left. • TAP ANY WORD - Morphology: prefixes, base and suffixes shown separately - Lemma, root and Strong's number with definition - Vocalized Square Hebrew and academic transliteration - Written and read forms where they differ (ketiv and qere) • PARALLEL AND INTERLINEAR MODES - Pure Paleo: the consonantal script alone - Parallel: Paleo-Hebrew beside Square Hebrew or the 1917 JPS English translation - Interlinear: Square Hebrew, transliteration and gloss under every Paleo word • CONCORDANCE AND ROOT SEARCH Search by exact form or by root (for example א-מ-ר) to find every occurrence in the Torah. Type with the built-in Paleo keyboard, a Hebrew keyboard, an English word or a Strong's number. • YOUR TEXT, YOUR WAY - Spaces, inscriptional word dividers (·), or continuous script - Text size, line spacing, Parchment and Night themes - Verse numbers in Paleo letters or digits • LEARN THE ALPHABET All 22 letters with names, sounds and letter-name meanings, plus flashcards for the letters and the 100 most frequent words. • WORKS OFFLINE The full text, lexicon and translation live on your device.
