Peach Ear Trainer
Read full descriptionHide full description
Peach is an ear-training app. It generates short exercises about pitch and timing, records your responses, and adjusts the difficulty over time. The training disciplines: β’ Compare Pitch β Two notes play; you judge which is higher. β’ Match Pitch β Adjust a slider until the note matches the reference. β’ Compare Intervals β An interval plays; you judge whether it is in tune. β’ Match Intervals β Adjust the second note to form the target interval. β’ Compare Timing β A short rhythmic pattern plays; you judge whether a note came early or late. The algorithm narrows the cent difference between notes as your responses become more accurate. In Compare Timing it narrows the timing offset the same way. The Profile screen shows per-discipline progress charts, summary statistics, and trend indicators. The home screen shows a small progress sparkline next to each discipline. Settings: β’ Equal Temperament (12-TET) and Just Intonation tuning systems. β’ MIDI input from a connected keyboard or controller (Bluetooth, USB, or Network MIDI). β’ Multiple selectable sounds: piano, strings, sine wave, and others. β’ CSV export and import of your training data. Peach runs on the device. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, and no tracking. Training data stays on the device unless you export it manually. The same app runs on iPhone and iPad. Data does not sync between devices automatically; transfer it via CSV export and import if you need to. There are no scores, levels, or streaks.
Practical Ear Training

Practical Ear Training helps musicians recognize what they hear and connect it to the notes they play. Practice five essential listening skills: β’ Melodies β listen, explore the piano, then reproduce each phrase β’ Intervals β identify every interval from unison to octave β’ Chord progressions β recognize common, functional, minor-key and modal patterns β’ Chord qualities β distinguish major, minor, diminished and augmented triads β’ Scales β learn major, minor, pentatonic, blues, modal, whole-tone and diminished sounds MAKE PRACTICE YOUR OWN Choose the key, scale, octave and tempo. Focus on exactly the intervals, chords, scales and progression types you want to learn. Start with simple root-position chords and short melodies, then add inversions, open voicings, rhythmic chords and longer phrases. LISTEN WITH DIFFERENT SOUNDS Train with sampled grand piano, nylon guitar, trumpet and clarinet sounds. Changing the instrument helps you recognize musical ideas by pitch and structure instead of memorizing one timbre. PLAY, SEE AND UNDERSTAND Use the touch piano to find notes before answering or to perform a melody. After revealing the answer, follow it on an animated piano roll, piano keyboard, guitar, bass, ukulele or mandolin fretboard. Chord exercises show both chord names and Roman numerals. CHECK YOUR SKILLS Take a balanced 20-question ear test covering melodies, intervals, chord progressions, chord qualities and scales. See an overall result plus a score for each skill, then repeat the test later to compare your progress. BUILD A PRACTICE HABIT Track recent accuracy, completed exercises and individual strengths. Your practice history and test results stay on your device. Practical Ear Training is designed for music students, self-taught musicians, pianists, guitarists and anyone who wants a more confident musical ear. Practice as much as you likeβno account, subscription or usage limit.
