Boonpoint is an honest map for dispersed camping, boondocking and overnight parking on US public land — built by a car-dweller, for car-dwellers. LIVE PUBLIC-LAND MAP Real campsite data from Recreation.gov, the US Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, California State Parks and OpenStreetMap, plus more than 5,000 area-info entries composed from official records. Boonpoint tells you where a pin came from, not whether camping is legal: "Official source" means a government dataset lists it, "Likely OK" means it is community-mapped and plausible, "Unconfirmed" means nobody has vouched for it yet. You still check the signs on-site. OVERNIGHT PARKING, WATER, DUMP, PROPANE, SHOWERS Truck stops, rest areas, Walmarts and casinos for a night in town. Drinking water, RV dump stations, propane refill, public showers and gyms with showers — the daily logistics of living on the road. COMMUNITY SPOTS AND TRAVELER REPORTS See a pullout, rest area or lot we don't have? Add it from the map — it saves offline and uploads when you have signal. On any review, share the cell signal you got (by carrier), what you paid, and the biggest rig that fits. Community spots always show as Unconfirmed so you can tell them apart from official data. VERIFIED TRIP JOURNAL Anyone can claim they camped somewhere. On Boonpoint you only log a stay if your phone confirms you were actually there — within 200 meters. Being there is the proof, not how long you stayed: got the knock at 2am? You can still log it from down the road. Photos, fuel cost, companions, a mini map; export any trip as a PDF. Your journal is private and syncs through your own iCloud. BLM + USFS OVERLAYS (Pro) Amber polygons show BLM land where dispersed camping is typically allowed. Yellow lines show USFS motor vehicle routes — the only legal access for dispersed camping in National Forests. Tap any area for the rules. OFFLINE REGIONS (Pro) Cell service is a lie at most dispersed sites. Download the spots in a region before you leave; Boonpoint falls back to them automatically off-grid. WEATHER, ELEVATION, GOLDEN HOUR NOAA forecast, elevation and sunrise/sunset at every spot. Arrive before dark. DIRECTIONS HAND-OFF One tap to Apple Maps (CarPlay-ready), Google Maps or Waze. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No third-party analytics SDKs, no trackers, no ad IDs, no background location. We count a handful of anonymous events (like "onboarding finished") with nothing attached that identifies you. Sign in with Apple is the only sign-in, and only posting to the community needs it. Report or block anything that is off. —— Pricing —— Every feature is unlocked for your first 7 days — no card, nothing auto-charges. After that, the map, search, weather, wishlist and your private journal stay usable, and Boonpoint Pro unlocks the BLM/USFS overlays, offline regions, community posting and photos. • Monthly: $4.99 per month • Yearly: $29.99 per year (half the monthly rate) Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Manage and cancel from Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. NOT A GOVERNMENT APP Boonpoint is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Government, the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, Recreation.gov, California State Parks or any other agency. Public-land data comes from their publicly available datasets. Always confirm current rules, closures and legality with the managing agency before camping.
