RHYTHM CHALLENGE turns your iPhone into a rhythm coach. Play guitar, drums, or any instrument—the app listens through the microphone and shows how accurately you hit the beat. ► METRONOME THAT LISTENS Set BPM (40–140), choose subdivisions (quarter, eighth, triplet, sixteenth), and hit Play, then play along; the app detects your hits and scores your timing. ► NO HEADPHONES NEEDED Train through the microphone even on your phone’s speaker—no headphones required. Prefer headphones for the most precise analysis, but you’re free to just pick up your instrument and play. ► REAL-TIME FEEDBACK See “Perfect”, “Good”, “Inaccurate”, or “Miss” as you play—in tap mode, and in microphone mode with headphones. When the microphone listens through the speaker, your scores appear right after the run. ► RHYTHM CHALLENGE MODE Patterns change every bar—great for building timing under pressure. Turn it on for a tougher workout. ► DETAILED RESULTS After each run you get: success rate, a breakdown into Perfect, Good, Inaccurate and Miss, and average error (ms). In microphone mode through the speaker, the app measures the speaker delay from the count-in clicks and, when that works, shows whether you play early or late. Otherwise—for example on headphones, where that delay can’t be measured—you see how even your playing is instead. Detailed analysis adds missed and extra notes, your waveform and onset timeline, and playback with the click. ► PRACTICE TOOLS • Training history • Statistics across all sessions • Export your take as WAV, with or without the click (in Detailed analysis) • Repeat the same setup with one tap ► FREE TO USE Unlimited training sessions in every mode, no sign-up. Tap and microphone sessions run up to 30 seconds; "Just Metronome" sessions (no scoring) run up to 5 minutes. The basic patterns—quarter notes, eighths, triplets, sixteenths and rests—are free. ► PREMIUM (OPTIONAL) Unlock full 5-minute sessions in tap and microphone modes, unlimited detailed analysis (free includes 3 in-depth breakdowns, then one per short ad), 15 more rhythm patterns (sixteenths and triplets with rests, gallops, off-beat eighths), and no ads. Choose a monthly or yearly subscription—both with a free trial for eligible users—or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Built for musicians who want to improve timing and feel. No wires, no tapping on the screen—just play and get honest feedback. ► SUBSCRIPTIONS AND LIFETIME RHYTHM CHALLENGE Premium is available as an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Lifetime is a one-time purchase that does not renew and has nothing to cancel; on a new device, get it back with Restore purchases. DrumSNotes
Read full descriptionHide full description
DrumSNotes teaches rhythm reading by playing. You look at a measure, listen to the click, and tap the rhythms on two pads, like on a drum kit. The app tells you right away whether your hit was on time. 8 LEVELS, STEP BY STEP BEGINNER: the quarter note, the rest and eighth notes. NOVICE and APPRENTICE: the sixteenth rest, sixteenth notes, first combinations. FAMILIAR and ADVANCED: chained sixteenth notes, rests within the beat. TEACHER: more varied rests, for those who really count in their head. VIRTUOSO: the dotted eighth, triplets, sextuplets, then quintuplets and septuplets. MAESTRO: the league, for the bravest. A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE BEFORE EACH LEVEL Every level starts with a guided explanation: each figure plays by itself, you see it and hear it, two thumbs show you how to tap, and a single button moves you forward. You can watch it again at any time from the settings. A GAME THAT ENCOURAGES YOU Earn stars by getting each measure right, then pass the final test to unlock the next level. If you miss a challenge, nothing is lost: it stays the same, the tempo eases a little, and an encouragement screen helps you go again. Tolerance tightens as you go: the further you get, the more precise you need to be. THE MAESTRO LEAGUE The ultimate level is a league: varied challenges where you play one measure four times, two measures twice each, or four measures in a row, at tempos suited to the difficulty. Every challenge you pass earns points based on your accuracy, up to 10 points at 100%, and 15 points after four perfect challenges in a row. Your score puts you on the online leaderboard (Game Center), overall and for the day, with a podium of the top three. The winner of the day receives a golden stick, which lets you replay an important challenge. COORDINATION: ONE HAND, ONE RHYTHM The screen is split in two by a line: one figure on the left, another on the right, and each pad plays its own side. You start with simply a quarter note on each side, then a quarter note against two eighths, sixteenth notes, rests, triplets, up to sextuplets. 6 levels and dozens of challenges, harder and harder, very gradually. At the end of every level, a bigger and bigger fireworks celebration awaits you! PICK THE SOUND OF YOUR PADS Each pad can have its own sound: shaker, maracas, bongos, conga, claves, bell, cowbell, and the snare, kick and hi-hat of an 808 drum machine, and many more, 25 in all. Take a ready-made kit (Latin, Fiesta, Electro 808, Samba...) or choose your sounds pad by pad. A PAD FOR EACH HAND Two pads, one per hand: blue for the strong hand, orange for the other. Left- or right-handed, the app adapts. A light sound guide helps you find your place, and you can turn it off for a harder challenge. CREATE YOUR OWN SCORES With DrumSNotes PRO, you become the teacher: compose measures of 2 to 5 beats by placing the figures you choose, set the tempo, listen to the result and play it. Keep up to 10 scores. FREE MODE As soon as you finish FAMILIAR, pick any measure in the app and set the tempo as you like. I'M A TEACHER Already a strong reader? At the very start, choose "I'm a teacher" and jump straight to the TEACHER level. Or pick "MAESTRO league": straight to the challenges and leaderboard, with every level open for practice whenever you like. COORDINATION and MY SCORES open at the end of TEACHER. FREE, THEN ONE PURCHASE • Free: all 8 levels, the MAESTRO league with its online leaderboard, and FREE MODE • DrumSNotes PRO: a one-time purchase, no subscription, unlocking COORDINATION and MY SCORES • Restore your purchase in one tap, including on a new device WHO IS IT FOR? Drum and percussion students, children and adults, and teachers who want a simple tool to practice rhythm reading. No ads. The online leaderboard uses Game Center, and you can play without signing in. The app is available in English and French.
