Nook is the journal that calls you. Every evening, at a time you pick, your phone rings. You answer, you talk for five minutes, and that's it. Journaling fails because it waits for you to start every single time. Nook starts for you. Like when your mom calls and asks how your day was, and you end up telling her things you didn't know you were thinking. Months later it still remembers all of it, so you can ask it what you've been circling and get a real answer. IT STARTS BY ASKING Your first call is a conversation. Nook asks what matters to you right now, what you're working on, and when you want to be called. It writes all of it down, and it brings it up later. THEN IT JUST CALLS Five minutes a day at your time. It remembers what you said yesterday and asks about the thing you're actually avoiding. Every call becomes a written entry, and once a week Nook pulls it all together into one recap. ASK IT ANYTHING This is the part that's hard to do with a notebook. Nook has everything you've said, so you can ask it about yourself: "Where am I falling short?" "What have I stopped mentioning?" "What's been draining me?" "What patterns do you notice?" And it answers properly. One user asked which goals she'd been neglecting and got told she hadn't been writing much, and hadn't touched German since she said she would. That's the thing a blank page can't do. It doesn't remember anything. IF YOU DON'T PICK UP, NOTHING HAPPENS No guilt. No broken chain. It just tries again tomorrow. Nook is the version you're still doing in a month, not the one you feel bad about in a week. MAKE IT YOURS Custom icons and a look you can set up the way you like. It should feel like somewhere you want to go at the end of the day. YOUR CALLS AREN'T RECORDED Nook doesn't keep your audio. You talk, it becomes text as you speak, and the recording never exists. That text is deleted after 12 months. No ads, no trackers, nothing sold to anyone. Delete your account and everything goes with it. Verdict
The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Nook at 17.0 against iForget's 26.1. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
