Learn chess step by step, right on your phone. ChessCoach is a chess course that opens on Today's Learning. Every day it lays out a short plan (a daily puzzle, one lesson, a tactics set and a practice game) and tracks your progress by chapter and by theme. โ 20-lesson curriculum Five chapters: Basics, Opening principles, Tactical motifs, Intermediate, Endgame basics. New lessons end with exercises on the board, checked move by move by the rules engine, with an explanation after every answer. ยท Control the centre, develop your pieces, castle ยท Count attackers and defenders, knight forks, queen double attacks ยท Mate with queen and rook, promotion and the rule of the square, the opposition โ Game review that explains After a game against the on-device AI, the app picks your biggest mistakes and says why in plain words: a piece left undefended, a missed checkmate, a missed fork. It links to the lesson that teaches the idea, and each mistake becomes a puzzle you can retry. โ 1,200 puzzles 1,000 checkmate puzzles (mate in one, back-rank mates) and 200 tactics puzzles (forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks). Every tactics puzzle was checked by the on-device engine to have one clear best move. A daily puzzle and streak. Accuracy per theme shows your weak spots and suggests a lesson to review. โ Practice games An AI from Elo 400 to 2400, unlimited free hints, move-by-move replay and PGN export. โ Opening library 15 openings replayed move by move, with the idea behind each. โ No account, all on your device No server, no login. Lessons, puzzles and the AI all run on your device, even in airplane mode. Your progress never leaves your phone. โ 5 languages English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). โ Free and the Full Course Free: the first 5 lessons (Basics chapter), Today's Learning, 1,000 mate puzzles, the daily puzzle, the first 5 puzzles of each tactics theme, AI games with hints and review, the opening library and My Progress. ChessCoach Full Course (one-time purchase, not a subscription, Family Sharing supported): all 20 lessons (opening principles, tactical motifs, intermediate, endgame basics), all 200 tactics puzzles, and no ads. If you have used ChessCoach since version 1.0, the 10 lessons you already had stay free, and your saved games, puzzles and lessons carry over. โ About ads Ads appear only when you open the app: at most 3 times a day, at least 4 hours apart.
