Motecraft
Read full descriptionHide full description
Motecraft is a quiet little gallery of small visual worlds. Tap a card and you're inside. Grow a living mandala from a single touch. Wipe away a pane of frost to find a glowing world beneath. Stir a slow current of ink into marble. Drag a curtain of aurora light, or throw a firecracker that walks legs across the sky. Hundreds of them, all hand-built โ and growing. FREE FOREVER, PLUS PRO The original collection stays free forever. Every visual you could open before, you still can โ no account, no catch, nothing walled off after the fact. Motecraft Pro unlocks a growing collection of new premium worlds โ the richer, shader-grade pieces โ and helps keep this one-person studio building. That's the whole deal: the free gallery stays free, Pro adds the new stuff on top. WHAT MAKES MOTECRAFT DIFFERENT โ No accounts to use it. Open the app and you're in. โ No ads. None now. None planned. โ No tracking. Standard Apple-style crash and performance data, nothing else. โ The free collection is free forever โ not a trial. THE CATEGORIES โข Mandala โ radial geometry that responds to your hand, now living and growing. โข Aurora โ silk curtains, slow ribbons, braided light. โข Fluid โ currents of ink, gold and marble you stir and fold. โข Reveal โ wipe away frost to uncover a world beneath. โข Swarm โ flocks, schools, formations that follow you. โข Firecracker & Diwali โ taps that burst into skies of light, rangoli and diya glow. โข Isometric โ tilt and orbit into little dimensional worlds. โข Fractal โ Mandelbrot, Julia, Burning Ship. โข Crystal & Reaction โ slow growth that fills the screen. โข Henna & calligraphy โ symmetric ink you draw. โข Candle, lantern, fireflies โ quiet ambient lights. HOW IT FEELS TO USE Designed for moments, not sessions. Open it for two minutes between meetings, before bed, on the train. Pick a card, watch it become, put the phone down. Then come back tomorrow and pick a different one. Each experience runs natively on your hardware at full frame rate. No external dependencies, no servers in the loop, no spinners. New visuals arrive from time to time โ they just appear. MOTECRAFT PRO One unlock, every premium world โ now and everything added later. โข Lifetime โ pay once, keep it forever. (Best value.) โข Annual โ with a free trial to start. โข Monthly โ for a lighter commitment. Sign in with Apple or email โ only so your unlock follows you across your iPhone and iPad. You still never need an account to enjoy the free gallery. PRIVACY, IN PLAIN ENGLISH We collect anonymous crash reports and performance metrics through Firebase. That's it. No advertising ID. No location. No contacts. Sign-in is used only to restore your purchase across devices โ nothing more. We do not sell or share anything, because there is nothing to sell. A NOTE FROM THE MAKER Motecraft Studio is a one-person studio in Ahmedabad, India. I write the code, draw the visuals, design the cards. Made on long evenings, on weekends, between consulting work. Pro is how you keep it going โ and how the premium worlds keep coming. If something is broken or you want to see a particular visual added, write to me directly. Feedback, requests, complaints โ support@motecraftstudio.com Made with care, for moments. โ Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. The Lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Terms: https://motecraftstudio.com/eula ยท Privacy: https://motecraftstudio.com/privacy
Chladni
Read full descriptionHide full description
In the 18th century the physicist Ernst Chladni drew a bow across a metal plate scattered with sand, and the sand arranged itself into a pattern. When a plate vibrates, certain lines stay perfectly still. The sand settles along those quiet lines, and the pattern appears. These are Chladni figures. This app recreates that phenomenon in the palm of your hand. Three thousand grains tremble on the screen and slowly gather along the nodal lines. It is made for watching that settling happen. What you can do - Four plates, twenty patterns: switch between square, circle, triangle and ring plates. Each has five patterns, twenty in all. Every plate has its own sand colours and its own range of tones. - Turn the dial: rotating the dial changes the pattern. The sand is not reset. It slowly rearranges itself from the shape it is in into the new one, and that rearrangement is the part worth watching. - Hear the tone: each pattern has its own pitch, and the range of tones moves with the plate you choose. Turn the sound off whenever you want to watch in silence. - Sing to the sand: turn on the microphone and hum a clear, steady note. The pitch of your voice selects a pattern within the current plate, and the volume sets how wildly the sand dances. Your voice is analysed on the device as it happens. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent anywhere. - Fill the collection: save the patterns you like with a name of your own. The collection has twenty slots, and each saved pattern is given one to three stars according to how intricate it is. Mark favourites and filter to show only those. Tap a saved pattern to bring it back to the screen. - Export a wallpaper: save the current pattern as a 1179 x 2556 PNG in your Photos. It is not a snapshot of the screen. Grains of sand are redrawn along the nodal lines computed from the equations, so the sandy texture holds up at full resolution. The mathematics is computed, not drawn The circular plate uses Bessel functions and the triangle uses the exact Lame solution, and so on for each shape. Nothing is a prepared picture being played back. Every pattern comes from an equation solved on the spot. Free, and what the one-time purchase adds Watching, switching plates, sound, microphone mode, the collection and favourites are all free. Exporting a wallpaper is free too, but while the app is free the exported image carries a faint watermark of the app name, and a small banner ad sits at the bottom of the screen (it is hidden while the collection is open and while the opening screen is showing). A single one-time purchase removes that watermark and removes the ads as well. It is the only thing for sale and it is not a subscription. Without it you can still watch every pattern, fill the whole collection, and save wallpapers. Good to know - Ads: to keep the app free, a small banner ad supplied by Google is shown at the bottom of the screen. The one-time purchase removes it. - To show those ads, information about your device and about the ads you see may be collected by Google. If you decline the tracking request shown at launch, the advertising identifier is not used. Every feature of the app works either way. - No account required - The app connects only to load ads and to buy or restore the one-time purchase - Your collection is stored only on this device - Your voice is analysed on your device, never recorded and never transmitted - Available in 33 languages Take a moment and watch the pattern rise quietly out of the sand.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Motecraft at none against Chladni's shown. Chladni's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
