I created BudGuard after losing an earbud on a black diamond trail. If you’ve ever dropped an earbud outdoors, you know tracking it down is nearly impossible. Even when standing right next to it with a perfect cellular signal, a pin on a map is just not enough. Outdoors, an earbud always finds a way to hide in the dirt, mud or tall grass. As an MTB rider and a developer, I realized I could turn the lost earbud into a sonic beacon. That first version already saved my earbud a few times, and the search became surprisingly fast and easy. Since then, I’ve refined the engine to generate the optimal beacon sound for the situation. Whether it's loud winds, rain or crickets, BudGuard will find the right beacon to be heard. *Made to Shred* Designed for earbuds: Your earbud acts as a sonic beacon with a specialized, high-frequency audio pulse engineered to be heard in any conditions. Shine bright: Whether it's loud winds, rain, or crickets, BudGuard finds the right sonic beacon to be heard. It works: If your earbud is connected and within range, you will find it. No registration, no tracking and no GPS or cell service required. Smart indicator: Listen for the sonic beacon. The smart on-screen indicator will help you sync with the beacon pulse and also show you when you're getting closer. 100% Offline, Local and Private: Does not require cell service, GPS signal or internet connection. No registrations. No sign-ins. No ads. *BudGuard is a solo-ride passion project* The app includes a free 24-hour search pass to help you find your earbud right now. If you find this app to be helpful, you can choose to unlock lifetime access permanently or make a voluntary single tip contribution to support the project.

It's somewhere in the room. You just can't see it or hear it. BT Beacon finds lost earbuds, headphones and speakers by Bluetooth signal strength. The closer you get, the higher the number climbs and the hotter the screen glows, like a game of hot and cold for those last few meters. WHAT IT DOES - Scans nearby Bluetooth devices and lists them - Shows closeness from 0 to 100 based on signal strength - Rough distance bands: arm's reach, a few steps, about this room, and more - Live "getting closer / moving away" indicator - Direction Hint: hold your phone at your chest and turn once in place to see which way the device likely is - Save your gear to My Devices, give it a nickname, and start tracking in one tap - Optional beeps that rise in pitch and pace as you close in - Color themes for the finder screen - Works on iPhone and iPad PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING BT Beacon works with signal strength, so a few honest limits: - It mainly shows how close you are. Direction Hint gives a rough direction, and walls or furniture can reflect the signal - It does not show a location on a map - It can only find devices that are powered on and broadcasting. Devices that are off or out of battery can't be detected - Earbuds such as AirPods broadcast when the case lid is open - Some devices appear as "Unknown Device" Telling you what it can and can't do up front is how we build this app. GREAT FOR - Anyone who keeps losing one earbud around the couch or bed - People with several Bluetooth devices: speakers, keyboards, smart tags - "I know it's in this room, but where?" moments - Turning a frustrating search into a small game PRIVACY - No account required - Scanning happens entirely on your device. We don't send the devices you find or any of your data anywhere - Your saved devices are stored only on this device - No location access. Direction Hint uses the motion sensors - To show our other apps, BT Beacon may load public App Store information Note: BT Beacon estimates closeness from Bluetooth signal strength and does not guarantee exact distance, direction, or location.
