Learn harmonium the way a good teacher would: find your Sa, play a responsive instrument, and practice sargam and alankar lessons that listen to you. LESSONS THAT LISTEN Work through swara foundations and structured alankar patterns, now in all 10 thaats with speed tiers. Hear a phrase, play or sing it, then see pitch feedback on every note. A take with too little clear evidence gets no score instead of a guess. A REAL-FEELING HARMONIUM Play a sampled-reed keyboard with bass, main and treble reeds, coupler, assisted or manual bellows, key sizing, octave navigation, transpose and tuning options. Your Sa follows the keyboard labels and the reference drone. FIND YOUR SA Sing, hum or play one comfortable, steady note. Sa changes only when the microphone hears it clearly; otherwise your current choice stays and you can retry or pick Sa by hand. READ NOTES YOUR WAY Sargam labels in Roman, Devanagari or Gurmukhi, moving with the Sa you chose. A DAILY RIYAZ HABIT A Sa-pitched drone, a quiet practice bed, attempt history, pitch traces, Riyaz Sadhana and guilt-free rest days. No account needed. PRACTICE COACH Get extra practice advice from the optional cloud coach, which uses an AI service. It asks your permission before sending your practice numbers, and your audio never leaves your phone. PRIVACY BY DESIGN The microphone listens only when you ask. Audio and pitch traces stay on your device. SOLOIST HARMONIUM PRO Seven lessons are free. Pay once with Lifetime to unlock every lesson and pattern for good, or choose the monthly or yearly plan, which also raises the practice coach's daily allowance. Plans renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store settings; Lifetime never renews. Restore purchases in Settings. Konnakol
Read full descriptionHide full description
Konnakol is a practice app for the South Indian rhythmic solfège tradition — reciting patterns of syllables (sollu) over a tala (rhythmic cycle), the foundation of Carnatic rhythm. LESSONS 22 guided lessons build from "what is a tala" to genuine advanced cross-rhythms: every gati (tisra, misra, sankirna...), talas beyond the basic cycle, "second speed" density, and a preview of the tihai cadence — including lessons that let you hear a phrase drift across a steady beat instead of just subdividing it faster. PRACTICE A configurable tala/nadai metronome with independent phrase length, so you can recite a pattern that resets every beat, or one that runs continuously across the beat grid for real polyrhythmic practice. EXPLORER Build your own jati combinations and audition them in a loop — a sandbox for exploring korvai-style phrases. REAL VOICE, REAL TABLA, REAL DRONE Syllables are recited with real recorded voice samples, not synthesized speech. Switch to a tabla voice for a different color, or layer in an ambient tambura drone — each with its own volume control. HAND POSITIONS Watch the tala's clap, wave, and finger-count hand positions animate in sync with the beat, so you can learn the physical gestures alongside the syllables. Works entirely offline. No account, no ads, no data collection, no permissions requested. FEATURES • 22 progressive lessons, from basic tala counting to advanced cross-rhythms • Adi Talam, Rupakam, Misra Chapu, and Khanda Chapu, with adjustable nadai and phrase length • Real recorded syllable samples (not synthesized speech), with natural pitch/volume variation and subtle reverb • Animated hand positions (clap/wave/finger count) that follow the beat, just like a live performance • Switch between recited voice and a tabla voice for the same syllables • Ambient tambura drone for authentic accompaniment • Independent volume control for click, voice, tabla, and drone • Practice tools for exploring any tala/nadai/phrase-length combination freely NEW: AUv3 PLUGIN Konnakol now ships with its own Audio Unit (AUv3) instrument, so you can run its tala engine directly inside GarageBand, Logic Pro, AUM, and other AU hosts: • Tempo sync with your host's transport, or set your own • Real MIDI output — record the performance onto a Software Instrument track • Local preview button to audition before recording • One-tap randomizer for tala, nadai, phrase length, and voice • The same animated hand-position guide, built into the plugin's own panel Whether you're a music student learning rhythm fundamentals, a percussionist studying Carnatic music, or a producer looking for an unusual rhythmic texture, Konnakol brings this centuries-old tradition to your practice room — and now to your DAW.
