TotalDocs vs Toolhub
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
TotalDocs
Read full descriptionHide full description
TotalDocs keeps the whole Total.js documentation on your Mac, iPad and iPhone, and reads it the way a native app should. THE DOCUMENTATION, WITH YOU Every library ships inside the app — Total.js v5, v4 and v3, DBMS, UI components, Flow, CMS, OpenPlatform, Code, SuperAdmin, Total API, Monitoring, UI Builder and the rest. It opens on a plane, on a train and in a basement office, because nothing has to be fetched to read it. When you are connected, one tap brings a library up to date from docs.totaljs.com. READ IT PROPERLY Pages keep their structure: headings, tables, callouts and code. Code is coloured by language, and every block has a button that copies it. Links inside the documentation move you to the right page; links that point outside open in your browser. FIND IT Search runs through the library you are in and takes you to the matching section, not just to the page it lives on. The sidebar groups libraries the way the website does, so what you already know still applies. ASK IT The assistant answers about the page you are reading, using the documentation itself plus the Total.js AI Context guidance. On a Mac with Apple Intelligence it runs on your device: your question never leaves it. If you prefer your own model, point the app at an Ollama server you run. Either way there is no account to create and no key to paste. Answers cite the pages they came from, so you can go and read the source. SAY IT, HEAR IT Dictate your question instead of typing it, and have the answer read back to you — useful when your hands are on the keyboard, and when reading a screen is hard work. MADE TO BE USED BY ANYONE Every library, page and result is one element with its own name, so VoiceOver reads the documentation instead of reading the icons beside it. The text grows from 80% to 250% with ⌘+ and ⌘−, or in Settings on the iPad, and everything grows with it — code and tables included. The app follows your light or dark appearance, and it stops animating when you ask the system for less movement. YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS The app opens straight into the documentation, with nothing to sign up for. What you read stays on your device, and the documentation you save is yours to keep. TotalDocs is made by the team behind Total.js.
Toolhub
This app provides a suite of MWD field instruments for directional drilling and MWD crews. It uses your device's magnetometer to detect signals, measure magnetic field strength, and log sensor data in real time, eliminating the need for extra hardware.
- MagLink Detector for real-time signal sync pulses
- MagField for live magnetic-field strength measurement
- Magnetometer Logger for raw sensor data capture
- No extra hardware required, uses device's magnetometer
- Real-time visual and audio feedback
- Screen stays awake during use

ToolHub puts a suite of MWD field instruments in your pocket. Using your iPhone's built-in magnetometer, it detects MagLink signals, measures magnetic-field strength in real time, and logs raw sensor data — no extra hardware to carry to the rig. Built by Erdos-Miller for directional-drilling and MWD crews who need quick, reliable field checks at the wellsite. TOOLS • MagLink Detector: Watch for MagLink sync pulses in real time. A live timeline shows detections over the last 60 seconds, with a running sync count, target rate in Hz, and a timestamped log of recent syncs — so you can confirm signal at a glance. • MagField: Read magnetic-field strength live, straight from your device. On-screen readout plus audio feedback tells you instantly when the field is clear or saturated, with orientation guidance to help you take a clean measurement. The screen stays awake while you work. • Magnetometer Logger: Capture raw three-axis magnetometer data with a configurable sampling rate, live readings in microtesla (µT), and performance stats. Review and share your logs when you're done. WHY TOOLHUB • No extra gear — your phone is the instrument • Real-time readings designed for the field, not the office • Clear visual and audio feedback you can use with gloves on • Fast, focused tools that do one job well More tools are on the way. ToolHub is built and maintained by ErdosMiller.

Verdict
TotalDocs and Toolhub are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
